Tim Sweeney is criticizing Valve again over Steam’s requirement for developers to disclose their use of generative AI.
The Epic Games CEO called the policy “abhorrent,” arguing that developers are being forced to make a “political statement” that could be used against them by a “hate mob.”
Sweeney has been criticizing the policy since 2025, previously comparing the disclosure to a “Scarlet Letter” and arguing that AI will eventually be part of almost every game production process.

Valve are already collecting player signatures for the Singapore Major ‼️
> There's emails circulating and I also got confirmation from players that they are even asking for signatures from teams with a small chance of making the Major
They are doing it earlier this time... could this point towards some sort of new item system for this Major?

Brazilian Ministry of Justice wants to monitor games that offer loot boxes ‼️
The games being listed for monitoring are: Counter-Strike 2, Call of Duty, NBA 2K26, WWE 2K26, Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile
These games have NOT been banned in Brasil, but the preliminary assessment found the 6 listed lack proper age verification
Their goal isn't to ban loot boxes either, but rather to ensure players under 18 years old don't have access to them
By law, developers have 3 options:
1- Require age verification to players in Brasil & not offer loot boxes to accounts under 18 years old
2- Offer a version of the game without loot boxes
3- Remove loot boxes in Brasil altogether
