There's a lot at stake in this election, but the core ballot question is still this: who is best placed to defend our economic and national security against Donald Trump?
We deserve serious leadership.

CBC’s Rosemary Barton exemplifies exactly why intelligent, accomplished people hesitate to run for office: even when they follow the rules—something Mark Carney has been clear about from day one—they are subjected to relentless badgering.
If Canada wants strong political leadership, we need to move past this tall poppy syndrome. We should be encouraging, not discouraging, successful private-sector leaders from stepping up to serve their country—especially in times of crisis.
For over a decade, Canada has struggled to find competent political leadership across the spectrum. Now more than ever, we need bold, unconventional leaders willing to take on the responsibility of guiding the country through these unprecedented challenges. It is hard work and it is a sacrifice. Show some respect.
Rosemary, enough already.

It’s time to unite Canadians by focusing on shared values and common goals. It’s time to spend less, and invest more. It’s time to secure new trading partners and build one strong Canadian economy. Let’s get to work.

The @CanadaInstitute has been an essential venue for Canada-US dialogue and convening of leaders of all stripes. This is a huge loss at the very worst time.

In a third video released in collaboration with the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz campaign, Harrison Ford noted that he doesn’t agree with them on every single policy, nor does he think they’re perfect, but “these two people believe in the rule of law"
