People (literally no one) asked me, “why don’t you take a picture of your book with Derzhprom, the main Kharkiv’s jewel?” So I did it for my favourite subscribers😁. (thanks to the great activist Ksenia Levadna for that).

Russian missiles hit Kharkiv. It’s always somehow scarier than drones, even if drones land more often and kill more people daily. When a missile hits the city, just those seconds before when you read about its approach, and have time to say goodbye, it’s bizarre.

Enjoying the last batch of my favorite cottage cheese from the Kharkiv producer Agromol. I’ve been told it won’t be available for some time, because russians hit their facilities 😭😭😭. I pray they re-start soon.

Kharkiv’s Museum of Natural History. Founded in 1807, it was based initially in private collection of the earl Severyn Pototsky, and later became part of the university. It’s one of the oldest university museums in Europe. Some photos of the haunted exhibits below.

Interestingly, attacking Ukrainian books were also popular in the russian empire and the Soviet Union. The burning of the old Ukrainian books in Vernadsky library in 1964, or burning of the Kharkiv archive in the building of projects in 1941 are among the bright examples.
Russian missiles land metres from Ukraine's Book Chamber, home to 15 million titles - from world classics to books banned under Soviet rule.

Wild grapes trying to hold together the bombed out house, squeezing into covered windows and balconies hanging by a thread. Kharkiv autumn is beautiful and sad.

I’ve noticed a new phenomenon - people asking online fortune tellers to predict which streets the russians are likeliest to hit in Kharkiv in winter. “They will hit homes a lot”, fortune teller stated the obvious. “And water, but that’ll be repaired”. A lot to analyze here.

The next entry to the Kharkiv’s Halloween gothic vibe architecture series is a 1899 Professor Somov’s mansion. As a friend said, “imagine profs used to have this money”. He was a professor of ornithology 🦅.1/2

The money was, of course, inherited as all lecturers and students in the Kharkiv university had to be aristocrats. Anyway, it was designed by Kharkiv’s favourite guy, Oleksii Beketov. Imagine experiments with birds and ghost piano playing through the night. 2/2
