My wife and I were talking about donating last night, and the first thing I saw this morning was this campaign.
Be a blessing.
For my BIRTHDAY... here's what I want: Let's help heal some kids.
Give to CURE. Any amount. I'll match you, personally.
It's about $1,000 to pay for a surgery.
I'll go up to $30k. Together, we'll be paying for 60 kids to have their lives changed.
Like Grace, for instance. She's 11 years old. She's been in pain, almost her whole life. Those days are almost over.
WORTH IT.
Somehow I doubt we'll regret, in the end, paying for kids' surgeries. Give $500, maybe. I'll give the other. Whatever you want.
Just go to cure.org/brant and I will match you!
That's what I want for my birthday. Anybody in??

Totally enjoyed talking with John Mark Comer about his new book, Into the Quiet.
Here's the interview. Our podcast is "Brant and Sherri Oddcast" and you can find it on Spotify, Google, all that stuff, too.

Living Unoffended and Unoffendable are 40% and 60% right now on Amazon. For the next few hours, anyway.
Buy for friends! Neighbors! Family! Folks in your church! Your sworn enemies and nemeses who greatly vex you!
I realize there may be some overlap there.

Just got back from Haarlem in The Netherlands.
I'm 5'10" and have never felt so short in my life. EVERYBODY is taller then me. Women, children... everyone. Zipping around.
The motto of the country is "Je maintiendrai" which I'm not sure but think means "Nephilim on Bikes"

LOTR might genuinely be one of the greatest things humans have ever put on a screen and I’m not even exaggerating. You can watch it as a kid and think it’s about hobbits and swords and this terrifying ring. Then you watch it as an adult and realize it’s basically about everything that actually matters.
Power corrupts people and evil usually starts really small..Good people can be tempted and courage isn’t about being fearless. Friendship can literally carry you when you can’t carry yourself anymore. The smallest person in the room can change the course of history. You do the right thing not because you know you’re going to win, but because it’s the right thing to do.
Honestly… I think it should be mandatory viewing for kids at some point. Not just “watch the movie” but actually dissect it. Why does Boromir fail? Why can Sam resist what other people can’t? Why does Frodo show Gollum mercy? Why is Aragorn a good leader when he spends half the story reluctant to have power? What happens when someone becomes consumed by resentment, fear, or the desire to control other people? Then make kids apply those questions to their own lives. Friendship, temptation, loyalty, courage, responsibility, choosing who you want to be when nobody is forcing you to choose correctly. There are probably more useful lessons about becoming a decent human being buried in those movies than in half the stuff we make kids memorize in school…and those are learnings and lessons that would stick and could carry you through all of life.
My favorite part is that the heroes aren’t these invincible characters either. They’re tired, scared, tempted, and completely outmatched. Half the time they have no idea what they’re doing but they just keep going….
Then somehow Peter Jackson took ALL of THAT and made three epic movies at the same time, filled them with real sets, real landscapes, thousands of extras, incredible music,… and made something that still looks better than movies being made with $200M budgets 25 years later.
I really don’t think we’ll ever get another thing like it.

I will believe that Christian sexual ethics "doesn't work" the minute you show me someone who died from lack of premarital sex.
I’m turning 57 soon. I don’t know how old I look—and don’t care much—but my kids are wonderful and now being a GRANDPA to two tiny girls IS SO AWESOME!!! The absolute sweetest thing ever.
I'm 56 but look 15 years younger. The reason I look so good? I don't have children. Before the inevitable pile-on begins, there IS evidence that having kids turbocharges ageing: INGE VAN LOTRINGEN trib.al/WZ7yYs7

This article misrepresents available scientific evidence.
Studies suggest that women who have 2-3 kids are healthiest in old age.
In particular, having one or more sons is associated with lower dementia risk among women.

My publisher, HarperCollins, is VERY pleased with me, as I have two books currently on ECPA bestseller lists.
This is one of them, and it’s on sale big time right now if you’re interested. It also pleases them when I tell you that. The other book is Unoffendable, which is apparently closing in on 500,000 sold. I never expected that.
Thank you to anyone who has read these books. I’m truly honored. I hope they were helpful and fun to read.

Taylor Swift isn't an outlier for going wild over "that's my husband." Wives who rate their husbands as more masculine happier & far less likely to be considering divorce.
✔️ 74% of wives w/ more masculine husbands are "very happy" in their marriage vs. 69% of wives w/ less masculine husbands.
✔️ 64% say divorce is "not at all likely" vs. 45% for less masculine husbands.

🚨INCREDIBLE: During a multi-vehicle collision on the Route 90 bridge in Ocean City, Maryland, a 2-year-old girl was ejected from a pickup truck, falling nearly 30 feet into the Assawoman Bay below.
Jonathan Bauer, who was driving across the bridge with his teenage daughter when the crash occurred, rushed over to inspect the wreckage. Looking down into the water, he saw the toddler floating face down and becoming unresponsive.
Without hesitation, Bauer instructed his daughter to flag down first responders, removed his shoes, and leapt off the bridge into the bay. He swam to the little girl, lifted her onto his shoulder, and patted her back until she coughed up water and began breathing again.
A passing pontoon boat quickly navigated toward them, pulling both Bauer and the toddler out of the water and transporting them to shore, where emergency personnel were waiting. The child was airlifted to a regional medical center for evaluation and released the following day in good condition.
Bauer was later honored by local law enforcement and civic leaders for his decisive actions and selflessness.
I don’t even need to read this. I have lived it you guys

Knowing full well that positive stuff doesn't travel well on this app, I offer this just in case you need to actually see the people of Jesus doing Jesus stuff:

Just got this report from the CURE hospital in Ethiopia. Bulcha is 17 years old. His three siblings have all died.
His mom treasures him, but it's been a hard life. Then he started developing a knock-kneed condition that eventually cost him his ability to walk. His mom was desperate, and call out to the Lord for help.
Friends found out about CURE. The community raised money to send him to the hospital. Surgeons said he would eventually be able to walk again.
Somebody (you, if you give to CURE?) paid for his surgeries. His mom had $0, and it cost her $0.
He's elated, and thanking God. His mom is (obviously!) elated, and thanking God.
The typical, world-class surgery at CURE costs about $1500.
Was it worth it?
WORTH IT.
And lastly, such is the united power of the Lord that I have chosen to forgie Bulcha for wearing this Arsenal kit while recovering!!

And FYI... at the eight CURE pediatric surgical hospitals in the last year... more than 21,000 kids got life-changing care.
Every one of them an amazing story. Every one of them at no cost to parents, in a place such surgeries would never otherwise be accessible.
What's more, all the CURE hospitals are training hospitals. Our neurosurgeons in Uganda? They're Ugandans. The hospital in Kenya is entirely staffed by Kenyans. It's brilliant, and I'm honored to get to partner with my brothers and sisters from around the world in making this stuff happen.
