TO ZIMBABWEANS IN THE DIASPORA
Please note:
1. Buying land has become one of the biggest scams in the history of this country.
Never fall for those Zanupf land barons or those civil servants who say “ndiri mu C10 or ndoshanda kwa president saka zvese bho”.
These civil servants have Zanupf blood of thievery and conning, you will loose your hard earned money even from someone who works at State House.
Also never fall for those “affordable payment plans” from some fly by night property developers.
Also remember that council officials like DOINK are corrupt to the core, they will make all sorts of promises to regilarise land but one day, you will wake up to graders demolishing your house while holding proof of payment of council taxes.
It is better and safer to buy property through established banks like CABS, CBZ etc.
2. When buying a fully developed house, be on the lookout of scammers. Some tenants are even making fake sells of houses that belong to their landlords who are in the diaspora. When buying a house, always go through REPUTABLE law firms and also remember there are so many fly by night law firms that are simply hustling and after your money.
3. The Chinese, who are known as the presidents friends get better preference than Zimbabwean citizens in Zimbabwe. When you land at RG Mugabe airport, do not be mistaken to think you are in Beijing China, you will meet a lot of ama Thursday and most of them will be wearing Zim flag branded shorts to show their loyalty to Mnangagwa.
Do not be surprised when a group of Chinese chaps at the airport jumps the queue while being led by an airport or immigration official.
& When they drive around, they dont get stopped/harrases at police roadblocks like we all do.
4. When you land at RG Mugabe airport, expect to be harassed by CIOs wearing suits who will question you as a Zimbabwean in Zimbabwe where you are coming from, why you are here and where you will stay. This they do as you exit the airport, after bags have been scanned.
5. When leaving Zimbabwe to return to your country of residence, expect your passport to be checked and verified several times before you even enter the airport and once you enter the airport, dont be surprised when a CIO approaches you and grills you about your trip outside Zimbabwe.
