Excellent news for the #ICC -- and for international justice.

These are not political news cycle issues. Trump is transforming what the United States is as a country in the world into a far right, authoritarian, transactional, valueless oligarchy aligned with the world's autocracies.
Need a primer on the #AlienEnemiesAct and how it might be used (or abused) in the #immigration context after yesterday's news that #Trump may soon invoke it to speed deportations?
We have you covered via @just_security's analyses by leading experts:

Maksym & Jeremy explain: "The central norm at stake here is the prohibition of the use of force."
What kind of world order will we fight for?
This is about sovereignty and independence for #Ukraine, but it's also about much more:

The #Pentagon Purge on Friday is deeply destabilizing and is a threat to civilian control of the #military and the rule of law more broadly.

A must read not just for international lawyers, Prof. @EBenvenisti's latest via @just_security on the resilience of international law in the face of empire.
A sober assessment of the moment we face, and a call to action on what to do now with the long view in mind:
Congress: Big problem at the National #Nuclear Security Administration
- Federal employees, probationary or not, aren't expendable
- Their knowledge is often irreplaceable
- Our national security depends on stopping the hemorrhaging now across agencies you fund & authorize
UPDATE:
Looks like firings at NNSA may be paused for now but staff are still "in a holding pattern" and "bracing for firings" - not an acceptable way to run our national security agencies:

This is not a pause. Global staff & the programs they run, established by & appropriated for by Congress, cannot simply be put back in place once yanked.
This should be understood as an unlawful attempt to abolish #USAID w/out Congress, by ensuring it can't function.
