Came back to Twitter just to say that this weekend, I once again bought a car and parted ways with the old one with a @darlingside album stuck inside it. This time it was Extralife. New car doesn't have a CD player so... I guess there's hope I'll break this habit.
Replying to @brighterbeat
Perhaps it's only fitting that I am forced to part with the car while the stereo grips onto, and will not release, one of my most listened-to albums of the last decade: there is no road quality, journey length or weather condition which Birds Say by @darlingside cannot improve.

Still thinking about Aftersun. Today, *THE* shot. And I’m thinking about it because it distils in a single frame some heavy things I’ve grown up with and experienced since becoming a father that it overwhelms me to see on screen. I feel like this one’s going to need a thread 🧵:

'Each song adds to a sort of photobook you leaf through, a time machine that drops you in a place you can nearly touch.'
One final share of my piece on the music of Aftersun, memories and how songs help you reconnect with the past.

Another incredible ep of @sacred_podcast. @ESOldfield and @cloverstroud set the bar for kind/honest/courageous conversation.
Reminded me of a line from a Michael Symmons Roberts poem, 'where all our songs and lamentations coalesce'

BBC's programming of Happy Valley at 9pm on a Sunday should be illegal. How am I supposed to sleep ever again.

Thank you to everyone who braved the cold earlier this month to be part of our special Light Up a Life service - it was a truly moving evening. Special thanks also to our appeal sponsors @RAHEstateAgent

Today is my last day with the excellent @ArthurRankHouse! What a bittersweet day as I look forward to new things but feel a weight of gratitude for such a good first job in fundraising. I couldn't have asked for a better start in an area I've now discovered I love. 🧵
@ArthurRankHouse lives up to its tagline in #makingeverymomentcount – no matter what is thrown its way. It is resilient and committed to serving and standing with local people unflinchingly. It is too good to be true, except it is true. What a privilege to have been in this team.
Great job vacancy alert! Join the wonderful team @ArthurRankHouse in a p/t variation of my role (which I'll leave next week, so, even more reason to apply) careers.arhc.org.uk/job/3530…

Since the passing of The Queen, you and your colleagues may be experiencing feelings of loss - which can be difficult to talk about.
To help make talking about loss a little less intimidating Mary Wessel has some excellent tips. #ThrowbackThursday #Tbt

Normalise. Talking. About. Death. And using the D word.
What can we learn from the death of the #Queen?
The world has watched her live through the process of #OrdinaryDying, and yet dying went unspoken, un-named.
Let's notice what nobody mentioned: we all saw the Queen going through the stages of ordinary dying.
