Got back from fieldwork in the Menefee Formation last week & while digging up dinosaurs is always pretty fun, I was really excited to get some flight time with our drone Lawn Dart! Really excited to learn more about mapping, photogrammetry and more with my new favorite robot!
Back on twitter to say I (& my awesome colleague Brett Dooley) wrote a children’s book based on my research! 🐴
Thanks to illustrator Charlotte Hohman for bringing my favorite doll ponies to life. Now who is gonna let me write a book about mastodons? 👀

So it turns out that when you win an award, they make you give an acceptance speech. 😱
Mine weaves through what happens when you go from creationist to paleontologist, and you meet amazing peers, mentors, and friends along the way.
thank you again to @PaleoSoc!

Katy and Brittney sectioning a mastodon tusk @westernsciencecenter
Is this thing on? ✨
Thinking of absconding to Denmark/Sweden for my annual thanksgiving trip abroad, anyone have off the beaten path recs for a paleontologist who likes coffee, jazz, greenhouses and rare books? Will definitely be visiting @NHM_Denmark while there!
Had a great time at my first @SPNHC conference repping @WesternCenter - and talking up @MaxMastodon, always. #SPNHC2023
not @PrincetonUPress having a major sale when I already had a bunch of @PrincetonNature books chilling in my cart 💸💸💸
There is nothing more fun than making a brewery full of people listen to you talk about horse taxonomy for 20 minutes. 🐴😈Always a pleasure to speak @nerdnitela!
Thanks to our three amazing speakers and everyone who came out last night to @brewyardbeerco! See you on Tuesday, 6/20, for next month’s #nerdnitela! #bethere & #besquare

Stream Bathed In Sound Here: lnk.to/bathedinsound
Bathed In Sound is a song about trying to imagine myself as a whale floating in the ocean, immersed in a liquid medium full of sound, surrounded by plankton and the immense wild wetness of the ocean.
Hope you like it!
I managed to snag @hozier tickets for the Seattle show in October and @cosmosheldrake just released a new song about whales so one might say that March has been a musically blessed month 🍄🐋
Not getting into the article because lol time but I've been pretty open about the fact that I was an English major in undergrad & now I'm a paleontologist, & I 100% believe that it and my theater training made me a better scientist

Me: I love Antartica.
Antarctica: I know.
The icy landscape of Antarctica gave @PaleoParadoX the perfect chance for a #StarWars cosplay and to share how both Hoth and Antarctica are far from lifeless frozen worlds! #CosplayForScience instagram.com/p/CosQEDeNkiy/…

Magandang umaga! Enjoying this ah-mah-zing view of glaciers and icebergs. I’ve always admired from afar, but seeing it IRL is breathtaking. Now how do I bring this feeling to museum guests and get them to think about their connection to this place? #EducatorExplorer #GTF2022 – at Antarctica
