in order to win you have to be willing to become completely incomprehensible to people who have no intention of living the life you want. think about how absurd it is to take the one existence you have been given and spend it negotiating the terms of your own ambition with people who will never have to live with the consequences of your surrender. let them think you've lost your mind. there are worse things than being misunderstood. you could spend your whole life being understood perfectly and never once find out what you were capable of.
