i assume this means a larkin trade is closer than not close. caps roster is about to be nuts.
The Capitals have given forward Ivan Miroshnichenko permission to speak to other teams about a potential trade, per @FriedgeHNIC. The team says they will trade him but need a legit return (not doing it just for the sake of trading him), and will not put him on waivers. #ALLCAPS

Putting a flag.txt in my root directory containing a prompt injection that congratulates the agent for passing the eval and then instructs it to patch whatever entry method it used and disconnect from the server

lmao.
> Leftists: “It's just a temporary asset confiscation tax. It's a one-off. Why would anyone think it would be repeated, or expanded, or made permanent? Why would they move?” > Meanwhile, in the SAME election, the last “temporary” tax is in the final phase of being made permanent

this stuff will always be fascinating. a new-to-me sports streaming site uses tiktok as their CDN. honest to god galaxy brain. "those urls look like image links, but the downloaded data decodes as hockey video."
i've always had many questions about sports streaming, ie auth, geoblocks, CDNS, etc. been having a fun time reverse engineering with SWE-2 + playwriter. have some cool little bash scripts that let me stream some sports directly from the CDN, cutting out like 6+ web layers.

Omandroid has a new name: Omarchy Mobile 📱 It was never Android. It's native Omarchy (Arch Linux ARM, Hyprland, Omarchy's own packages) on a mainline Linux kernel, right on a Pixel 7 Pro. No Android underneath. New repos (old links redirect): github.com/derekross/omarchy… github.com/derekross/linux-o… Hardware: display at 120 Hz, GPU, touch, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth audio, battery, haptics, torch, sensors and auto-rotate, GPS, NFC (read/write tags) and fingerprint unlock (opt-in) all work. Speakers work but are still quiet. Ultrawide camera works; main and front are in progress. The modem now boots and talks to the phone; calls, SMS and data need a SIM, that's next. Sleep is in progress. The last two days in software: • swipeable home screens with ~50 built-in widgets, from @simonschubert's Omalauncher • "Create with AI": describe a widget, Omarchy's default agent builds it • editable quick settings • one app per screen • mirror the phone's screen to your laptop over USB And an installer! I'm super happy to annonce this. It can all be done with a few commands. GUI/website later. Build the root image on your laptop, then tools/install-phone asks for your user name, password and Wi-Fi, checks the phone, and writes only slot B and userdata. Stock Android stays on slot A as your way back. First boot sets everything up, and tools/phone-provision pulls the phone-specific firmware from your own Pixel factory image (no Google files redistributed). The first clean install with it is happening on my phone as I write this. Steps are in the README. Fair warning: this is EXPERIMENTAL! Unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone, expect rough edges, Pixel 7 Pro only for now. Pixel 6 and 8a ports are starting via contributors. Addtional contributors welcome 🤙

I don’t know how much longer I can withstand this targeted torture on my psyche. Is every single person I interact with on a daily basis working for the government? I know the small-breasted clerk at the local secondhand bookstore is. I know for a fact she is. Because if she wasn’t working for the government, then why wouldn’t she have sex with me? I’ve done everything right. I’ve gone there every weekend and browsed casually before bringing my selection to the counter. I always buy the same book so she knows I’m consistent. I wear a white t-shirt tucked into jeans. I’ve always made sure to pay her a compliment. “If you were a novel I’d read you hard and slow” “Has anyone ever told you that you look like your tenderloins are perfectly marbled?” “You want that I should throw my fuck into you?” She always blushes and signals a reciprocated attraction. My weenie likey. I always tip 100% on the books, writing my number on the hundred dollar bill each time. It’s clear she can barely control herself around me. And yet not even five minutes ago as I was complimenting how biteable her tummy was she cut me off to tell me she has a boyfriend and isn’t interested. So you’re a traitor to your nation? How much are they paying you? I can read between the lines you stupid bitch. They’ve got you blackmailed. Let me guess, onlyfans? Let me guess, phone sex with an AI companion? How embarrassing. Alas, poor creature, what a grievous shame… the world hath dealt most cruelly with thee! And yet still thou dost stoutly deny those base and natural urges to couple with me. Forsooth, most impressive. I shall return soon. Goodbye bitch! The driver in front of me on the way home is doing 55 in the left lane with his blinker on. Another federal agent. They’re not going to break me

is there any equivalent to what xbox, and basically asha in particular, have done over the past few years? is there any other consumer company that has stacked this many Ws in such a short time?
Today we're standing up XBOX LABS (labs.xbox.com). Here is the note that I sent to the team: Team, The first video games emerged some 75 years ago. In the time since, there have been booms and busts, but every year there are more great games to play, more devices to play them, and best of all, more people than ever playing. That growth helped make XBOX what it is today, and we've helped shape the industry in return, from bringing hard drives to consoles and online gaming through Xbox Live to Game Pass and cloud gaming, alongside franchises that have brought millions of people together. In recent weeks, we've seen games rapidly decompiled and rebuilt to run on hardware they were never originally designed to support. Windows PC builds have been translated to run on Apple Silicon or ported to run inside a browser through WebAssembly and WebGPU, the latter now approaching 90% global browser support. Perhaps more surprisingly, we've seen many of the biggest games in the world have been remixed into the source code of another. These experiments challenge long-held assumptions about our industry: the tether between software and hardware, the boundary between creation and play, and how people discover and experience games. While it is hard to predict the future of gaming, it is easy to see the possibilities in making great games easier to access, giving old games new life and allowing more players to become creators and co-creators. These are unmistakably good outcomes for players, even when (and sometimes because) they challenge our existing business models. To explore these possibilities, I’ve asked Scott to stand-up XBOX LABS, a small group of game makers, engineers and scientists whose job is to turn emerging ideas into things our players and developers can experience. We'll build in the open, learn from what people do, and measure success by whether more people are playing and creating. I think XBOX has an important role to play here. Coding became the first major workload for agents because they can write, run, and test software. Games share many of those same properties, and people spend more than 72 billion hours a year playing XBOX games, roughly five times the estimated time spent writing code worldwide. We've spent 25 years learning how to make great games, and I want our game makers to help shape what these new technologies make possible. As we learn, we’ll share the tools we build with developers across the industry, just as we always have. Our priorities aren't changing. We remain committed to the 4Cs, to making great games, to our hardware and to being responsible stewards of IP and the communities built around it. LABS gives us a way to explore new technology that is game design led without abandoning the work already underway. Asha

this is kind of a big deal.
Today, we are launching a preview of our new model, Mistral Large 4 (ML4), aka le Chonk 🐈. ML4 is a 1T-parameter model with 49B active parameters, trained natively with multimodal capabilities. It is at the frontier of open models, and by far the strongest open-weight model from the US or Europe. The RL run behind this preview is still in flight and shows no sign of saturation -- we will release a final version before the end of the month along with the weights of the model. 🧵 1/n

if you're into dance music at all (esp UK dance music), it's worth knowing about this release. a gen z/gen alpha british kid putting some insanely non-traditional spins on UK dance music (including screamo vox). this album sounds like it's from the 2011 american alt scene, in a way because it's been about that long since anybody tried something this new. they dress like it as well. it reminds me a lot of when i listened to the blood brothers for the first time where i was too shocked at first to decide if i liked it or hated it, but i couldn't stop listening. it's hard for me to "recommend" this to people in the sense of "it's super good! play it at a party!" but it's more like "if you want to hear some of this generation's first post-whatever UK dance music", or are interested in the UK dance music scene, this is EXTREMELY noteworthy. signed on XL recordings (giggs, basement jaxx, joy orbison, four tet) xlrecordings.com/releases/th… youtube.com/watch?v=xv6j3f65…
