HYPOTHETICALLY… IF I BOUGHT MY HOUSE FOR $125,000 IN 2002 AND THE COUNTY NOW SAYS IT’S WORTH $487,000, WHERE DID I ACTUALLY MAKE $362,000?
Did I sell it? No.
Did I receive $362,000? No.
Did somebody hand me a check for the new assessed value? Obviously not.
But my property taxes still go up because, on paper, my house is suddenly worth hundreds of thousands more.
That’s the part that doesn’t make sense to me.
This isn’t income.
It isn’t cash sitting in my bank account.
It’s a number someone assigned to my property, and now I’m being billed based on that number.
If my stock portfolio doubles but I don’t sell, I haven’t turned that gain into cash.
If my salary stays the same, I don’t suddenly owe more income tax because someone thinks I’m worth more.
So why does owning a home work differently?
WHY AM I PAYING TAX ON A GAIN I NEVER REALIZED?
A house isn’t just an investment.
It’s where people live.
You can pay off the mortgage, own the property outright, and still face a bigger bill every year because the value of the house went up on paper.
At some point, you have to ask what “owning” something actually means if the cost of keeping it can keep rising because of money you never received.
THIS ISN’T ABOUT WHETHER THE HOUSE IS “WORTH” MORE.
IT’S ABOUT BEING CHARGED FOR VALUE YOU NEVER TURNED INTO CASH.
And people are starting to notice.

📡 LoRa (MeshCore) module for Flipper One — an off-grid radio messenger
The video shows Flipper One sending a public message that's relayed by repeater nodes, reaching users over a long distance.
The MeshCore network is built on LoRa technology (868 MHz in the UK) and uses repeaters maintained by radio enthusiasts to extend its coverage. In our London tests, messages traveled more than 150 km and reached hundreds of clients. The network operates independently of the internet, requires no radio transmission licence, and is free to use. A good option for keeping text messaging available when the internet goes down.
Our LoRa module prototype is based on the Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver and u-blox NEO-6M GNSS receiver. The module can optionally broadcast your location, which is useful for coordinating outdoor activities. It's hardware-compatible with both MeshCore and Meshtastic mesh networks.

Did you guys know that reading BIPs doesn’t actually take that long? You can usually skim them in a few minutes and get the gist of what’s being proposed without having to rely on someone else’s secondhand interpretation. Highly recommend.

I visited Fort Knox today.
The dollar has lost 97% of its purchasing power since the Fed opened in 1913. $100 then is worth just over $3,300 today.
This is no accident. Congress spends without limit, while the Fed prints the difference.

At Fort Knox, we've come to see the gold!
Our country has about a hundred and forty-seven million ounces of gold, and about half of it is stored here at Fort Knox.
We're gonna be going deep underground to see the gold, but more importantly, we're gonna be talking today about what happened to our dollar when we separated from gold in 1971.
I'm going underground, and I'll let you know what I see in a little bit.

If you select “No tip”
The screen tells you “Ohh ohh, there’s been a pricing update” and all items get more expensive
This is should be a class a action lawsuit and they should face fines from regulatory agencies
This is such a big controversy that Shake Shack responded and said this isn’t their policy and they’re looking into it
But it’s right here. The proof is right in front of us…. Clearly it’s not just one location, I’m sure it’s happening with his multiple businesses all over America
