I can already hear the comments… 💔 “Why didn’t you keep her puppies with her? Why didn’t you rehome them together?” Do you know how difficult it is to find homes for Mastins? Adult Mastins? And how much harder it is to find someone willing to adopt an adult Mastin and a puppy who will soon grow into an adult themselves? Believe me, if we thought it was possible, we would have tried to keep Mama Mia with one of her babies. But rescue is not always that simple. And if you didn’t offer to help, please don’t be the one to criticise those who are trying their best. Every single one of Mama Mia’s puppies has found a home. ❤️ Every one of them has a future, a family, and the chance to be loved. Of course, she’s a little sad. How could she not be? But for the first time in her life, she was allowed to raise her babies until they were four months old. Before this, her puppies were always taken away from her far too soon, while she was forced to live her life on a chain. This time, she got to be a mum. She got to nurture, to love, to care for her babies. And that matters. Now it’s Mama Mia’s turn. 🥹❤️ Today, we shared a little snuggle in the rain, and I wished so much that she could understand that her happy ending is still out there, waiting for her. Mama Mia is one of the most loving, gentle and loyal dogs you could ever meet. She has so much love left to give, and all she needs is someone willing to give her a chance. But she has one thing working against her: she’s a Mastin. In our experience, as a Galgo rescue, finding homes for Mastins is incredibly difficult. People see their size, and sometimes they never get to see the beautiful soul hiding behind it. So please, let’s stop criticising. Let’s stop looking backwards and start looking forward. Let’s share Mama Mia. Let’s help her find her person 🙏🏻❤️

💔 Some rescues just break your heart. With so many new arrivals coming in today, we want to take a moment to tell you about this little girl. She has lived in a loving home and is so, so loved by her mum. Sadly, extremely unfortunate circumstances mean she now has to leave the life she knows behind. 💔 Please don’t ask for details or make assumptions. This is a very personal situation, and it isn’t our place to discuss it publicly. We simply want to focus on this little girl and helping her find a new beginning. She will be coming into the care of Galgos del Sol. Imagine going from a loving home to suddenly finding yourself in a kennel. It’s heartbreaking. 😢 She is a little Podenco, around three years old and weighing approximately 8 kg. When she arrives, we’ll share videos so you can get to know her and help us find her a new home.
