Every girl deserves the opportunity to dream big, explore what’s possible and know her voice and ideas matter. This #WomensEqualityDay, SWENext celebrates the women who helped create new possibilities and the next generation ready to keep moving progress forward. 💚

Happy World Photography Day! Photographers help us see what is at stake. Their images bring the ocean closer, revealing its beauty, its vulnerability, and the people working to protect it. Today, we are especially grateful to every photographer who allows their work to be used for good, helping conservation stories travel farther and inspire action around the world. And a special shoutout to the Ocean Image Bank for making powerful ocean imagery freely available to the conservation community. Conservation begins with connection, and photographers help make that connection impossible to ignore.

Grain Weevil is an American-built robot designed to do one of farming's most dangerous jobs — managing grain inside storage bins — so farmers never have to climb in. Founded in Omaha, Nebraska by father-son duo Chad and Ben Johnson, the roughly 2-foot-long robot uses two augers to skim across the grain surface, creating a "controlled avalanche" that levels, breaks up crusts, and keeps grain flowing. Farmers control it from outside the bin, away from the risk of entrapment, auger entanglement, falls, and dust that causes Farmer's Lung. #GrainWeevil #Robotics #FarmSafety #Agriculture

⚽As the World Cup nears its final whistle, fans are heading home with stories about America. Fireflies are real. Ranch is worth the hype. Yellow school buses look exactly like the movies. 🚌 Many will also remember the kindness they encountered when they met Americans. Now imagine that feeling in reverse. You arrive in another country and build bridges with strangers through shared laughs and small moments, until strangers no longer feel like strangers. This is the Peace Corps. Volunteers represent America abroad by working alongside everyday people in 60+ countries around the world. If that kind of service calls to you, learn more about serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer: peacecorps.gov 📸: Peace Corps Ecuador #PeaceCorps #ToughestJob #WorldCup2026

Engineers at MIT and EPFL have designed the FAAV — a flapping-wing aerial-aquatic vehicle that swims underwater, then flaps out of the water to fly through the air, just like puffins, loons, and other diving birds. Weighing under 300 grams, the robot has flexible membrane wings coated with hydrophobic nanoparticles and a motorized, steerable tail. In tests in a water tank and Lake Geneva, it swam at nearly 1 m/s, flew at around 6 m/s, and pitched at 70 degrees to break through the surface — no feet or paddling required. Published in Science, the design could launch a new class of aerial-aquatic drones for ocean science, diving near icebergs, ports, or whale pods to collect samples and fly data back at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods. #MIT #EPFL #Robotics #FAAV #Drones

One of the ocean's oldest rivalries, caught at the surface. In 2025, off the coast of Mauritius, a sperm whale emerged carrying a freshly killed giant squid (Architeuthis dux). Its tentacles were still intact, and a cloud of ink lingered in the water from the squid's final attempt to escape. Video by Ludo @lud_adventure (IG)/ EcoWatch Discovery Mauritius

@reedhastings I just learned you were in Swaziland teaching while my husband and I were there as well. Our @PeaceCorps service started in 1980 and ended in 1984. What school did you teach math? @netflix @Jeopardy
