Oh shit they solved the FTBURNESFTMCBNSE
mathematicians and muse spark collaborated to solve 6 open problems in math:

2. Finite-Time Blow-Up of Radial Negative-Energy Solutions for the Mass-Critical Biharmonic Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation
3. Semiabelian Groups Need Not Be Monomial
4. Tightness of the Cycle-Based Relaxation for Completed Length-Three Alpha-Cycles
5. String Two-Point Function = Height Function on a Curve
6. On Solvable Evolution Algebras and a Conjecture by García-Martínez and Pérez-Rodríguez
Great read. And one of the better names I've come across.
We already know what a world without work looks like. It's the life of 18th century aristocrats, who concerned themselves with political gossip and petty dramas; of society ladies in the 1980s, who spent their time hosting and volunteering; and Italian-Americans in 1950s Boston, whose status was centered around their peer groups, rather than their jobs.
Relational living comes to us naturally, but – argues @clarabcollier – work offers us dignity, structure, and meaning, as evinced by surveys that consistently find that about 85% of Americans are "somewhat" or "completely" satisfied by their jobs. Work gives us an escape from the cliquishness of relational societies: without it, our personal relationships might become even more stifling and transactional.

"No one’s family name was changed, altered, shortened, butchered, or 'written down wrong' at Ellis Island or any American port. That idea is an urban legend."
Wow. I didn't realize this till now.

I'm starting to think the $0.13 alibaba uber eats delivery bag isn't the ideal vessel for transporting hot food across a city
still easily the best model i've seen to get food into the hands of the food insecure:
- the food stays in the same locality,
- $$ and employment goes to local SMEs,
- diversity of workers, owners, and meals,
- meal planning and less travel = low enviro impact
Rethink Food is excited to share a report developed in collaboration with McKinsey & Company (@mckinsey) examining the #economic, #social, and #environmental impact of our work with local restaurants in #NYC. The preliminary results of this study can help us understand how investing in small, locally-owned businesses and restaurants can help foster a more equitable and sustainable food system.
