Dear Patrick kalanda,
I think you’re missing the point.
Nobody said Joshua Baraka earns more than King Saha. But why should we pretend that the only measure of an artist’s success is how long they’ve been in the industry or how much they make locally?
King Saha has been in music since around 2011. Joshua’s professional recording career began in 2021. Yet, in that relatively short time, Joshua has toured Europe, opened for Bien, co-headlined Blankets & Wine in Kenya with Tems, performed at Afro Nation Portugal alongside some of the world’s biggest African acts, and taken his music to Canada and Australia.
Look at the calibre of international relationships he’s built. Likes of King Promise, Joeboy, Bien, Simi, FAVE, Shenseea, Sarkodie, French Montana, JAE5 and others.
These aren’t just names on a poster. They represent networks, opportunities, audiences and a level of international exposure that many African artists spend years trying to access.
King Saha has his own achievements, a loyal Ugandan audience and a career worth respecting. Nobody needs to take that away from him.
But let’s not confuse longevity with international reach, local popularity with global visibility, or filling a local venue with building an international touring career.
And no, this isn’t an argument about who has more money. Unless we have their actual financial records, neither of us can establish that.
The point is simple,Joshua Baraka has achieved an extraordinary amount in a relatively short time, and pretending otherwise because someone has spent longer in the industry is intellectual dishonesty.
Let’s learn to recognise different forms of success.
Yours truly,
Eyam Wycliff.
Replying to @iam_eyamwycliff
@iam_eyamwycliff , the challenge with you Ugandans is pretending to know music than artists. Do you want to say that Barak earns more than him from music?
The guy was advising his fellow artist not you and online noise maker
A war of words? @avapeace_1 responds to Ndausi's remarks with questions about his 20 years in the industry.

Fik Fameica was a guest performer at the event and, presumably, had already been announced as the next act on stage. The crowd was fired up when the interruption occurred. From an artist's perspective, tat can easily be perceived as disrespectful. Equally, from the Guild President's perspective, she may have felt the same, but what was the urgency?
Very few professional musicians would react calmly in the heat of such a moment, especially in front of their fans. While di need to address the audience may have been legitimate, the real issue appears to have been poor coordination!
For me, this feels less like an artist problem and more like an organizational one. If there was a need for Madam President to speak, it should have been communicated and factored into the programme well in advance. Hopefully, the organizers treat this as a learning experience and put better coordination measures in place going forward. Some drama is entirely avoidable 🤷
I criticise the manner in which Fik Fameica and his team treated Makerere University guild president Grace Kadondi when she requested for the mic to speak.
It is tradition at Makerere that whenever students gather for whatever cause be it enjoyment the guild president must address them.
But also madam guild Grace don't you have a security minister to stand firm with you at all times? Why didn't any of the male ministers in your cabinet come to your rescue? I have watched the videos and I see you fighting a losing battle alone against 10 or so men.
I doubt Fik and his team would pull off that nonsense against a male guild president because I can assure you that party was going to stop there and Fik and team would be very lucky to leave that stage with all their teeth intact.
A Tyler Perry movie/series practically requires a remote with a working fast-forward button ⏩⏩. Some, if not most, of his content isn't exactly the most palatable
Apparently, the Guild President wanted to address students before Fik continued performing. Did her interruption make sense, or was it unnecessary drama?🤷
