Lori Campbell: Indigenous "Wonder Woman" speaks truth to power therecord.com/news/waterloo-… via @wr_record
Territorial acknowledgements state gratefulness to live/work/play on Indig lands
Perhaps they should acknowledge institutions, industries, people extract wealth, resources, opportunity, comfort from those same lands.
Without truth, acknowledgement = performance not responsibility
Does anyone else get fed up with the palatable "missing" & murdered Indigenous women, when in reality we R hunted, stalked, stolen & murdered? Let's focus on the society that allows predators to lurk among us, to sit at our dinner tables! We don't just wander off & go missing!
If you cannot answer the question, "How are you teaching from a colonized paradigm?", you are not ready to consider how to decolonize your teaching.

It was truly an honour to be a #keynote speaker for the National @Indspire #Indigenous Education Conference in #Montreal this past week.
I had the privilege of sitting with Elder Winston Wuttanee and was overwhelmed when he stood to share an honour song after my talk.

I am never sure how much of my #TwoSpiritness to show when I provide my talks, but I always try to ensure that people know that it's part of the lens through which I experience the world & that it's time to recognize that no ceremony circle is complete until we are within it.
