In the previous NFT bull market, success hinged more on hype and speculation than on intrinsic utility. As the NFT landscape evolves, projects face a pivotal choice: adapt or become obsolete. Here are their paths forward:
Reinvention for Utility: Projects pivoting to provide tangible benefits, like RWA assets, are attracting a more stable user base. This shift towards real-world applications is becoming essential for long-term success.
Collaboration for Enhanced Value: NFT projects can amplify their impact by partnering with utility-driven ventures, leveraging community strength for mutual benefits. This approach not only broadens their appeal but also introduces holders to new utility and rewards.
Sticking to Speculation: Sole reliance on market speculation is increasingly unsustainable. The community's appetite for purely speculative assets is waning in favor of projects that offer substantive value or innovation.
The transition towards utility and meaningful collaborations reflects the NFT market's maturation. Projects that recognize and act on these dynamics are poised to lead in the evolving digital asset space, offering more than just speculative value to their communities.

Those who know me understand that as a founder, I tend to avoid controversy. But today, I want to share my thoughts on the @LazyLionsNFT situation and whether a 2021 NFT project without alternative income sources still holds value.
Let's start with a little resume:
1. Community: In the past, a ROAR could get you your first 1,000 followers. Even now, despite challenges, the community actively builds 2nd layers of the project. The engagement in @LazyZombieCrew spaces and the execution quality of @3DKingsNFT are just a few examples.
I believe the Lazy Lions team has done a fantastic job in this area. Only those who've been founders know the effort it takes to build and sustain a community over time.
2. IP: Not only is it top-notch, but it also carries a sense of power, thanks to the lion's symbolic strength.
3. Partnerships: Behind Yugalabs, Lazy Lions had some of the most significant NFT partnerships – an NBA team, Puma, Polygon, among others.
I've had several calls with the team, discussing their medium and long-term plans. However, it seems that focusing on the long-term vision might have led to short-term plans falling short. This frustration from community might have caused a rift with the team, and it's often hard to mend such breaks.
But I don't see LL as a failure or a dead project. Instead, I see a team that built a Ferrari, now searching for someone to drive it to victory.
It's much easier to create profitable businesses around existing communities than to build communities around businesses. And it's not imposible to pivot a vision to a more realistic and closer vision.
I have no doubt that whoever takes over will excel, as the community is filled with amazing and highly capable people ready to not just revive but elevate the project.
P.S.: Remember the comments from those who laughed, said it had no value, called it a dead project, and even mocked you. Angering a lion is a grave mistake.

🚨UPDATE:
3 weeks ago, I quit my job.
I left because I wasn’t enjoying my corporate role within a big business.
I was demotivated, uninspired, and frustrated.
So, I resigned with no job lined up.
My mindset was to be open-minded about what could be next, have lots of conversations, open potential doors & trust your instincts on what move to take.
So, I did!
With the priority of finding a job in Web3.
As I said in my last post, my passion is in Web3, and I intend to build my career for the next decade here!
I spoke with 14 Web3 businesses and 3 Web3 agencies.
I learned A LOT!
For the most part, there was nervousness around hiring. For the agencies, I lacked client experience in the space, and a couple of roles just didn’t align with where I feel I can add the most value.
While I was exploring Web3 opportunities, I also explored opportunities within what I do today.
I knew my experience and CV were strong in this area, and I’d have no issue finding a new challenge within recruitment/employment branding.
So after 22 interview in total, I made my decision!
So what's next?
After a lot of conversations, reflection, and thinking, I decided to move back into a sales environment.
Leave the big business for a small.
Leave in-house for 360 sales.
Most importantly, leave the environment that had drained me for one I can be myself.
Creative
Entrepreneurial
Help a business grow not operate
So, next month, I will join a small recruitment business near home as a managing consultant.
- I will get management experience.
- Sharpen the sales tool.
- Work within an industry I know well.
- Build out a new function & team.
- Return to the office environment
- Have freedom to make changes
And, work closely with the founders to help them grow the business!
So you’re leaving Web3 like everyone else?
Nope. I ain't f**king leaving!!
In this process, I realized a few things…
- I want to help Web3 businesses create content and market products/services.
- I don’t want to be a full-time content creator.
- Web3 businesses would rather hire a service than a full-time staff member.
- I know how I can best add value to the space.
So, I am taking on two businesses to whom I will provide Web3 marketing & content creation services.
This will become my Web3 focus, helping these 2 businesses.
I have no desire to become the biggest and best content creator on X.
I enjoy sharing my thoughts, interests, lifestyle and connecting with folks but content creation solely for personal brand purposes isn’t what I want to do!
My biggest passion is helping businesses grow, embrace Web3 tech and culture and communicate to the community properly!
I also want to keep learning, build evidence, and refine the service that I know I can help Web3 businesses with.
Anyway, This is a new challenge and the next step in my Web3 journey that I’m really excited about!
It’s been a whirlwind 3 weeks…
But, I am super happy with how things have worked out.
I’m energised, excited, and ready to attack my next set of challenges!
I have lots of thoughts and learnings to share from this last 3 weeks, and I will try to articulate some in the coming weeks.
My focus will change next month, and I will post less content here so I can excel in both new roles.
Change is good. Risk is needed. The vision is clearer than ever.
Your journey is your journey. Everyone is at different stages. Block out the noise, do what is best for you.
Play your game, it’s YOU v YOU always!
If you got this far, you’re a real one, and I appreciate you!💛
Onwards & Upwards, Let’s get it!!

I can't believe at 1 stage my NFT portfolio was valued at around $8 million, and now I'd be lucky to get $1 million for it.
What an absolute waste of the $3,000 I spent on them.

Biggest announcement in the history of NFT God:
NFT God is dead. It's happening. I'm rebranding.
Everything is changing.
For 20 months I've posted as NFT God. I've written about life, algorithms, growth, Russian mobs, love, Trader Joes
Everything but NFTs
Here's the plan:
This will be a very long process. I'm doing this over the course of the next 6 or so months. Maybe longer or shorter, who knows, I'm firing from the hip here
Going to be a wild journey and I'm going to take you through every step of it
As with everything I create, I want to do it in service to you
For anyone who is trying to build a brand on X, I think the next 6 months will be really interesting for you to watch
I'm going to share every lesson and insight I can from this monstrous shift in my digital identity
🔶Why am I doing this?
I have big plans. I've built my company over the last 2 years from $0-$200,000 of revenue
I've worked with big brands
I've built a massive community
But I want to go bigger. And being myself is going to allow me to go much further than I could with a cringe, polarizing name like NFT God
🔶So who am I you ask?
I'm Alex Finn. I'm a 33 year old dude who's been programming and and playing basketball really poorly for most of my life. I'm also currently level 20 in Starfield.
I built NFT God 2 years ago as an escape from my 9-5 life
Little did I know it would be the reason I escape the 9-5 life
Over the last few months I've been writing content about X and hosting Spaces that has drawn me a lot of attention
I strongly believe X is the future. I believe it will eat every other social media platform alive.
I'm betting EVERYTHING on this thesis
I believe the people who win on this platform will be bigger than Mr. Beast.
I believe my current branding will act as a headwind towards becoming that massive voice
🔶So what's the transition plan?
My name is officially in my bio. In the next month I'll be changing my username to NFT God (Alex Finn)
About a month or so after that (maybe even longer) I'm going to flip it. Alex Finn (NFT God)
Then a couple of months after that I'll drop the NFT God in total.
The last step in the process will be my PFP (despite the fact that Elon Musk has acknowledged my existence more than Yuga Labs over the past 2 years)
I believe the profile picture holds most of the brand equity on X. So I want to make that the last thing I do and do it in a subtle way.
It'll eventually turn into my face, but it'll be done in a strategic manner that maintains as much of my brand equity as possible
It'll be a long, interesting journey, but I'm excited to take you on it.
To the people who enjoy my content:
My content won't be changing at all. I'll continue to take technical concepts and make them really easy to understand.
I'll also still be writing about all of my failures in life and giving you lessons from them.
Hopefully this transition won't be one of them though.
To my Web 3 folk:
This is how you bridge the gap. Not by forcing $50,000 cartoon zoo animal pictures down people's throats. But by speaking their language.
I appreciate your support over the past 2 years. I'll still be in all your spaces and events discussing what's going on in the space. Literally nothing changes except for the name and PFP.
Everything before today was the prologue.
Time to start writing the first chapter.
Let's get started...
