I am very pleased to share this article, which reflects on the meaning of social democracy in Canada in this moment of sovereignty. Thanks to @2067Journal and @BenWoodfinden for inviting me to share my thoughts.

Your credit card rewards are funded by a de-facto tax on the poor. Rewards are financed by "swipe fees" -- the fee stores pay to banks when you use credit. To offset these costs, stores typically raise prices -- even for low-income customers who tend to pay in cash (and get no rewards). Thus, the system channels money from low-income Americans to the affluent. We can mitigate this injustice by following the EU's lead and capping swipe fees. vox.com/politics/506417/cred…

Listening The Doors debut on vinyl. Honestly, if I had heard this in 1967 I would have had my mind blown. Giving Boomers this one.

NEW - @UBCIC grand chief Stewart Phillip says he only endorses @Emily_Lowan in her run to be MLA for Saanich North and the Islands, but endorses @bcndp and @Dave_Eby overall to form government. Follows confusion in which it appeared he was endorsing the @BCGreens
