Honest thought, nothing against Andrei.
Open-sourcing a project doesn’t always mean a free service.
People will vibe-code their own SaaS on top of it.
New ones will add missing features to compete.
One built in days instead of months will be priced much lower, and many will choose it.
For the scheduling niche, yes, you have to wait for approval by each platform, but it’s just waiting, you’re not required to put effort into that.
Ok this is getting out of hand, and stupid people will actually believe this is so easy and so obvious.
Let me tell you why is better to pay $21/mo for @schedpilot and skip this nonsense
People start vibecoding open-source projects and think its 1998 again.
This guy created a social media scheduler app as an open source project. As an owner of a similar app let me tell you why this is a failed project already:
1/ for this to work, you need approved apps for each social media network, meta, tiktok, youtube, instagram, threads, facebook, pinterest etc
These processes take weeks or even months to be approved for, that cant be vibecoded
2/ setting this up and running it yourself is a hassle and you have to really fine-tune things around a lot
this is something you cant just vibe code because there are other things involved
if you are creating content or have the idea to create content that does tens of thousands of views, you will skip anything thats not stable

postiz was always open-sourced

This is what will convert everything:
i got fired by @wickedguro this morning
so i'm releasing the entire source code to the public
enjoy 👇

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The post misrepresents the situation: the screenshot and Nevo David's reply show termination of a 3-month paid ads consulting contract, not firing a CMO. Postiz source code is already publicly available as open-source (no features gated) at the official repository.

If you use Polar be AWARE of this:
A user on my Plus plan used every generation, downgraded to Light mid-month, and got the unused days as money credits back.
Normally upgrades should charge the difference now. Downgrades should start next cycle.
(like Claude for example)
On Polar's portal you can set only one rule for both scenarios.
So the rule for upgrades (pay the difference now) is applied also for downgrading
I've planned a fix using their subscriptions API, but i've emailed @polar_sh to see if this "split of rule" is in their roadmap to be applied to the portal or not
Now i’m scaling this.
Introduced Halloween theme and Halloween sale
started a small meta ads campaign
and the most important thing is to polish the flow to make it more easy to use
wtf
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

New trend: attacking @marclou over his followers.
I don’t understand; most of you are here thanks to him.
People talk about his 400k followers and Mailcheap’s $500 revenue, ignoring it’s open source:
those who won’t pay, don’t.
I once thought too “Marc has a big audience, he’s lucky, he makes money as an influencer.”
but when you realize that one day you’ll have this too, feels stupid
This guy achieved what everyone dreams of.
If you had just 1% of his creativity and social skills, you’d achieve this too.
