Threatening to call ICE
Workers peeing on themselves
Women on their period not allowed bathroom breaks
Those are just some of the horrors of working at HelloFresh

I went on @NPRCodeSwitch Switch to discuss what really happened w/“defund.” As a slogan it's not popular, but the idea that we can't raise questions, while police budgets, ICE & surveillance go wild is crazy. We get into the data. Listen to the end youtube.com/watch?v=Zk7bPLvB…

An ICE agent in Texas ran down and ran over a man this weekend.
Then, ICE lied about it: "Parra-Hernandez ran in front of an ICE vehicle and was struck."
Watch the video and see.

Florida Democratic Senate nominee Angie Nixon was confronted by a heckler Monday at a Banned Books Week event at Café Resistance, her Jacksonville bookstore and coffee shop, over a wall in the shop featuring 12 Black activists, including Angela Davis, George Jackson, Mumia Abu-Jamal and Assata Shakur.
"Multiple people on that wall are people that killed cops," the person said, implying Nixon was celebrating them. "So am I supposed to hide history?" Nixon replied. "Do you want me to ban history?" She said "people should know what they did, what they were convicted of, what [they] were exonerated of."
Nixon then defended the Black Panther Party's legacy, pointing to its free breakfast programs and community health clinics. She contrasted those with Republican Sen. Ashley Moody's vote for Trump's 2025 tax and spending law, which Nixon said is cutting Medicaid and threatening health care for hundreds of thousands of Floridians.

🚨@AngieNixon SCHOOLS an Ashley Moody disruptor at a press conference:
“The Black Panther Party saw that people didn’t have access to quality healthcare. They popped up free health clinics because the government was failing to ensure that people had a safety net. They started free health clinics and that’s been replicated by organizations all across the country who are in communities when people like @AshleyMoodyFL decide to vote to end healthcare for over 440,000 people here in the state of Florida!”

We found at least two charter schools that used Alpha’s AI program where students performed significantly worse on state-mandated tests than what Alpha leaders projected.
Now at least three Texas public school districts are using Alpha's AI tool.

Forget grandiose talk of curing cancer - this is what AI is actually doing to healthcare.
In the words of one cardiologist: “it’s bots fighting bots, agents fighting agents, a horrible dystopic future nobody wants to live in.”

A lot of leaders say they want a “big tent.” But Maurice asks: why aren’t they fighting on the issues that affect the masses of people—healthcare, housing, police and ICE accountability, billionaire wealth, and the impact of AI and data centers?

But is it fascism? Do they really yearn for apocalypse? Isn't that polarizing? Shouldn't we be nice to them?
We made a short video so folks can hear the end timers in their own words and judge for themselves:

In 1993 New Jersey Governor James Florio pronounced Sept 11th to be "Makaza Kumanyika Day" in honor of my father's lifetime of civil rights and human rights activism and solidarity.
Happy Makaza Kumanyika day!
The police tell us they’re here to protect us. But what if their original purpose was something else altogether?
