🚨 Victoria: where parents can withdraw their kids from participating in the Australian National Anthem but can’t withdraw them from classes on gender ideology. 🚩 “School council president Jackie Dzienciol also responded to parents, saying departmental policy about withdrawal only applied to the “sexual health component of health education” – and did not extend to the Respectful Relationships curriculum.” As one of the 37 parents from Caulfield South Primary School prep cohort who have complained to the school told @News24Aust: 💯 “You’re not only teaching boys that you can violate girls’ boundaries and identify out of their sex, you’re teaching little girls they must put up with this, they must accept this new reality. I find that very dangerous gaslighting.” @OneNationVic deputy leader Colleen Harkin has described the program as an ‘activist agenda’ and says her party will remove the program from schools. 👏 Well done to the parents standing up! Ahead of the Victorian election, voters should demand a clear commitment from every candidate to remove this program from schools, to restore parents’ rights to know what their children are being taught and at a minimum, the right to opt their kids out of lessons promoting dangerous ideologies. 🔗 Read more from @carolinemarcus: news24.com.au/news/local/par… #SpringSt

Dozens of parents at a Melbourne primary school are fighting for the right to pull their children from lessons that “introduce contested concepts” around “sex and gender identity”. news24.com.au/news/local/par…

The most graphic literal example of taxpayers’ money going up in smoke. 🔥🔥 And judging by the figures, an extraordinarily expensive smoke at that. $545,000 for the celebration alone.

Inspector: "I'll be straight with you, there's been a complaint." Farmer: "There usually is. What have I done?" Inspector: "Your cattle were seen standing in a field in the rain." Farmer: "Yes. They do that. They're outside." Inspector: "The complainant felt they looked wet." Farmer: "They're waterproof. It's the one thing the manufacturer got right." Inspector: "I've walked the lot. Water's clean, feet are sound, calves are on their mothers, condition's good. I've nothing to write." Farmer: "Write that, then." Inspector: "There's no box for it. The form assumes I've found something." Farmer: "Put me down as pending." Inspector: "There's a second complaint. Someone filmed you from the lane shouting at a cow." Farmer: "That was Mabel. She was stood on my foot." Inspector: "And the footage of the shed?" Farmer: "I've one shed and it's behind you. That film was shot in Yorkshire. The group puts its logo over a farm gate and the public fills in the rest." Inspector: "You've seen the Arla business this week." Farmer: "I've seen what comes after it. The farm gets suspended, the lorry stops coming, and by Friday the milk's arriving from somewhere that would fail every question you've just asked me and never get asked." Inspector: "I'll put it down as no action." Farmer: "You'll be back." Inspector: "I'll be back. Somebody will see them standing in the sun."

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧. You will recall that in September the High Court refused Sall Grover @salltweets special leave to appeal in the landmark Giggle for Girls v Roxanne Tickle case. A case of considerable importance to Sal, to biological women in Australia concerned about sex-based rights, & to the future interpretation of the Sex Discrimination Act in this country. However, today the High Court granted Pauline Hanson special leave to appeal a racial discrimination ruling arising from her long-running dispute with Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi. The dispute began following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, when Faruqi made comments about the monarchy & British colonialism that I considered appalling. Hanson responded by telling her to “piss off back to Pakistan.” Hanson’s appeal raises constitutional questions about the Commonwealth’s legislative powers & the implied freedom of political communication. I’m pleased Hanson has been granted the opportunity to have those questions heard by the High Court. But I cannot help reflecting on the contrast. Both cases raise significant questions about the interpretation & application of Australia’s discrimination laws, albeit on very different legal grounds. 𝐈𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐱-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 & 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. And I remain deeply disappointed that the High Court declined to hear her appeal particularly so given Hanson’s ruling.
