Started a substack about my rare-cancer experiences.
There will be some serious entries and some funnier ones - I'll put a warning in the opening paragraph for any that could be too triggering.
Includes lots of references to 🐕 and 🐈 and ⚽.

Enjoyed this by @k8tmac - it echoes many of my thoughts around women's football 'media'.

Eva Olid on the difference between the Man United team thrashed by Chelsea and the side we saw v Man City:
"It had to happen to now be the team we are. We need to keep improving and learning. If we have the desire and fight we had today, not a lot of things can stop us.”
Unable to be in Leigh this evening?

Don't forget the invitational tournament in China in '88, designed to see if a women's world cup would be feasible. Dominant Norway the winners of course.
The first Women’s World Cup, in 1991, wasn't called that at the time.
It was the catchy '1st FIFA World Championship for Women’s Football for the M&M’s Cup’ instead.
But the USA's successful campaign, which saw them defeat tournament favourites Norway in the final, created a legacy that ensured that by the next edition in 1995, FIFA were happy to call it the World Cup.
@Zonal_Marking's history of Women's World Cup finals begins in China, 35 years ago.

I've been doing research in the decreasing visitor numbers for the Netherlands squad. Is it really that bad? #oranjevrouwen #oranjeleeuwinnen #vrouwenvoetbal

Easy to see why Arsenal were awarded a penalty with Ella Morris' arm in the air, but per the rules, if a player is hit on the hand/arm by the ball from a team-mate’s kick/header, it is not a penalty. No stipulation about height on arm placement on IFAB website
From a neutral perspective, Arsenal are just so boring to watch. The endless passing in and around the box doesn't mount any pressure when it's sideways or backwards.
