Can’t thank the connections of the @BreedersCup contenders enough this week. They have been welcoming, open, candid. They have granted access and time. All the shows and all the interviews…a resounding THANK YOU

Belatedly we bring post-race interview w trainer @brenpwalsh & co-owners @Gainesway & Andrew Rosen after they won @BreedersCup Juv Fillies w unbeaten Emphatic w @Tyler_Gaff. We claim her for #KyRacing, especially after she also won @Keeneland's G1 @Darley Alcibiades. But @ColonialDowns & @MonmouthPark also have to be proud for their role in getting her back to KY in championship form 📸 @coadymediaUSA #BC26 #horseracingecosystem @damon_thayer @NationalHBPA @virginiaracing @cbredar @horseracingKK @kaitlinebenson @ThePressboxLTS @MeganDevineTV

Representing three generations of Kleins & five generations of their thoroughbred breeding, @reredevaux-trained Brilliant Berti will try to get the Louisville family their first @BreedersCup victory in today's $2M Mile on turf. Brilliant Berti is a true KY horse, racing at @ChurchillDowns, @Keeneland, @EllisParkRacing & @KYDownsRacing. Richard Klein has been pointing for this race ever since Brilliant Berti won #KyDowns' 2024 Gun Runner. @b_hernandezjr rides. (And proud to have Casey Klein as one of our #KyHBPA board members, representing owners) 📸@CoadymediaUSA #KyRacing #BC26 @DeVauxRacingDC

The scratches of Thought Process (FM Turf) and Forged Steel (Dirt Mile) make it 20 BC scratches (not including AEs) post entry.

Every race is more fun if Louisville's Brook T. Smith is part of the ownership. We catch up w Brook, who's got a real fandom, after Haffner (which he owns in partnership w @coolmorestud & Peter Brant) won Friday's $1M @BreedersCup Juv Turf. It's similar partnership that won @Keeneland's 2024 Blue Grass & @BreedersCup Classic w Sierra Leone, now a @CoolmoreAmerica stallion. "To win a juv race at the #BreedersCup is like looking in a crystal ball," he said. "You just don't know what's going to happen next. It's the present you haven't completely opened yet." 📸 @CoadyMediaUSA. #BC26 #KyRacing @Ballydoyle

Old man SQUISHMALLOW is one of our permanent resident semi-feral cats. He lost his bonded mate recently, but he's doing well. Squish will tolerate the occasional pet or belly rub, but then he's off limits again. He was adopted once and miserable, so he will stay with us forever!
