Every breast cancer journey is different, but access to reliable information matters to everyone.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are highlighting the importance of breast health awareness, recognising unusual changes and seeking medical advice when something doesn't feel right.
A new lump, changes in breast shape, size, or skin, unusual nipple changes or discharge, and pain should not be ignored. While not every breast change indicates cancer, it is important to have new or concerning changes assessed by a qualified healthcare professional.
Breast cancer awareness is about more than wearing a pink ribbon. It is about equipping people with knowledge, encouraging informed health decisions and supporting efforts to improve outcomes through evidence and research.
Throughout October, join us as we share information to help you understand breast health, recognise possible warning signs and make informed decisions about your health.
Knowledge matters. Awareness matters. Every journey matters.

๐ A major milestone for maternal and perinatal health research!
CCTRIS is proud to be part of the EWE-ON-AFRICITIES project, which has received a ยฃ2.5 million grant from @wellcometrust through the Climate Impact Awards.
The project will examine how extreme rainfall and flooding affect maternal and perinatal health outcomes in Lagos ๐ณ๐ฌ and Harare ๐ฟ๐ผ, generating evidence to support climate-resilient health systems and informed climate action.
We look forward to contributing to research that can help protect women, newborns and communities as climate risks continue to grow.

Thereโs a woman who sells roasted corn in front of my estate. I buy from her almost every day.
Yesterday, I was in a hurry when I saw my friend buying corn from her. I told the woman not to collect money from my friend because Iโd pay when I got back.
When I returned, I asked the woman how much the corn cost. She said โฆ2,000. I paid and left.
In the evening, my friend called me. While we were talking, she asked, โHope you paid โฆ800?โ
I was confused.
Thatโs when I realized the corn my friend collected was โฆ800, but she charged me โฆ2,000 for it.
My friend wanted to confront her, but I told her not to. Iโll just stop buying from her.
Overfamiliarity is not always a good thing. Some people become too comfortable and start taking advantage of loyal customers. Thatโs how they lose them.
