He reached out to friend Kathy Bates to see if she could get him any role on "Matlock" because he was just $6,000 away from meeting the guild's minimum to qualify for health insurance. • “She told me, ‘I have good news and bad news for you. The good news is, I got you a role on “Matlock.” The bad news is, you have five lines and you don’t have a name.’ I was like, ‘Sign me up! No ego amigo here.’ I played no-name detective.
