I made a tool that creates real-time audio effects using the integrated FIR filter in the SPC700. Here's a demo. Full video explaining all the gory details linked in the replies!
One of the most interesting and profound things I've independently discovered that a normal person will never be able to appreciate is that a Sinc filter with a Blackman window resembles a Gaussian.

I made an in-depth analysis video about FF6! It goes into the lore, characters, magic and espers, and more. youtube.com/watch?v=xcs-ZgVF…
It would mean a lot if anyone could share or retweet this. The algorithms have dropped me a lot lately due to inactivity.

22 years ago, I made my first board, this NES cartridge. With features like an 8-bit MCU used a coprocessor (a new model at the time), writable flash memory, RS232 interface, mod-free audio expansion (using audio IRQ to write $4011) with my own lo-fi audio synth in software.

I made an entire jazz fusion album on a Super Nintendo. SUPER BUTTON MASHER is out now on @BRAINFEEDER . 10 tracks, 64KB of RAM. This is Pastel Roses.
I'm going on record in declaring this as the moment that control of the world has solidly fallen from Boomers to Millenials. Everything that happens is unequivocally our fault now.
I need to spray some reality grease on this. Programming a 2D physics engine for an 8-bit machine is not much harder than programming a 2D physics engine for a modern machine. Maybe you spend a bit more time on it but it's just more time spent, not a showcase of talent or ability
The physical design of the M64 is less bad than the A3D. Mimicking the look of the N64 was just a bad move. The original N64 console design is tacky. The SNES design is similarly bad. Original NES is a trainwreck. The SFC and GameCube designs are passable if not good.
The wait is over.
Dust off your cartridges and relive the greatest generation of gaming.

You knew it was coming. Native Super Nintendo (SNES) music tracker, with support for patching the ROM with your own pitched, one-shot and sliced samples along with SF2 sound font instruments alongside a slim SF2 editor. A work in progress: github.com/little-scale/sndj…

Who says the SNES can't do dynamic lighting? 😉
Here's an early glimpse of Ronius Tale 2, our upcoming SNES game, featuring real-time lighting and other technical tricks.
Still a work in progress, but we're excited to share.

2/9 I never planned to do this, but the thought of giving Mr. Kikuta a gift like he has given us over the years was too tempting. I started remaking with @osoumen 's C700 VST, which could output an SFC ROM file. I quickly identified the source samples and started remaking it.
