my take on the ao3 google drive drama: preservation and redistribution are two different things. downloading fic for personal use is fine; uploading other people’s work permission to your own archive and distributing the link to thousands of people is a different thing. (1/2)

yeah i shouldve been more specific bc if writers want to share their fics in whatever way they want i support them, and i do support readers downloading/saving fics also, it's just the mass sharing of fics that arent your own is what i think is understandable to be bugged by
