Had to get a taste of @centi_vr to top things off~
If you wanna hear me swallow every drop you know where to find it~
"95% of survey respondents want some kind of label for AI usage-"
"Only a third (33%) would avoid an βAI-assistedβ world on purpose."
"What about filters so I can completely turn off this content?
Weβre not adding them. Filters get set once and forgotten, and then you never see that part of VRChat again."
You had 95% of those who care about your game enough to take a survey tell you they want an AI lable and 33% of them telling you they'd outright avoid AI content if they knew it was apart of a world, and the best you are gonna do is a like/dislike button and making AI-Generated thumbnails against TOS?
And that last part, "-then you never see that part of VRChat again." It's almost if that's the entire point of filters. Hell, even on here people can filter out NSFW content, never seeing me or my friend's stuff ever again if they wish and that's completely okay!
Right after that part though, "-a filter assumes the labels are correct-", while true, that's kinda the whole point and why many sites feature reporting for wrong labels, so they are to be checked and made sure they are correct, to make sure the creator isn't lying or hiding anything to match people's filters, everything from Rule34 to Steam has that basic function for labels.
"As it stands, saying you used AI can feel like a confession.", again, kinda the whole point. That's how it SHOULD feel considering, again, 95% WANT A LABEL AND 33% AVOID AI ENTIRELY!
While I also get the part about harassing creators over an AI label, not adding it isn't stopping that. Artist get ridiculed and have a finger pointed at them no matter what. Sometimes people are right and the artist was lying or not disclousing their AI usage, sometimes people are wrong and the art is fine, it just looked off to people and had basic AI mistakes like fingers.
I'm someone who's not really for or against AI. I mainly just wanna know if it was used or how it was used to determine if I wanna support it or not.
This whole thing feels like a "See! We had a survey! We listen to our community!" publicity thing and not something you guys ever actually cared about. Other than making AI Thumbnails against TOS, this doesn't seem like it listened to your community much at all.
A few weeks ago, we asked the community to submit feedback on how they felt about AI in VRChat.
Here's our takeaways and next steps:
