@fibrehop is there an issue in the Milton Keynes area? I have been disconnected this morning and unable to reconnect. Your service status doesn't show any issues.

icusteps.org/rehab Tomorrow is the 18th birthday of my 2nd life, thanks to #ICU. After 6 weeks in hospital with a TBI and SCI, I escaped with a stolen walker in my pyjamas. That's PICS. That's #delirium. That's why #RehabIsCritical. #ICUrehab for all. @icusteps @BBCHughPym

Amazing! Over 1000 signatures to @icusteps #RehabIsCritical petition in one day. Those of us who know critical illness understand that #ICUrehab is essential to get our lives back. The public need to understand too, and @MattHancock icusteps.org/rehab

Just 24 hours left in the #Artandco #covid19 charity auction. Last chance to visit artandco.net, get involved and help front line charities including @ICUsteps. This amazing fundraising effort could fund development of our icu patient diary app. Get bidding!
Super excited by the #Artandco #covid19 charity auction. This amazing fundraising effort will make a huge difference and so proud @ICUsteps is one of the beneficiaries. Great art with pieces for auction by Dali, Picasso, Warhol and Koons. artandco.net/ Have a look!

Happy videos of COVID survivors being applauded leaving hospital is not the end of their journey. It’s the start and they’re being abandoned to face it alone. Survival is not enough. We need support and #icurehab to get our lives back. Listen to @icusteps @ficmnews @BPSofficial

“But surviving and getting our life back are two different things.” Thank you, for everything you do @chaffron @ICUsteps – at Santiago, Chile
theatlantic.com/video/archiv… Thankyou @elbuder and @TheAtlantic for this amazing work capturing what it is to be critically ill. This is what ICU survivorship looks like. This is why we founded @icusteps. This is why we need support, #icu_rehab and awareness. Please ReTweet

Delighted to see @ICUsteps PR on the launch of @FICMNews position statement and guidance for patients following the pandemic. Survival is not enough. Support and #ICURehab must now be made standard in the #ICU care pathway. icusteps.org/home/recovery-a… ficm.ac.uk/news-events-educa…

Think staying home is hard? Try risking your life in ICU working 12 hour shifts, days after day, wrapped in layers of PPE and coping with the loss of half your patients. They’re doing their part. You do yours.
And I'll bet all of you on London Fields will dutifully come out and clap for the NHS next Thursday. Well, you know what? Keep it.
Like your predecessors who founded #ICU the 1950s from the polio epidemic, this is our chance to make #ICURehab a core of the pathway and not an optional extra. Survival is not enough. Giving our lives back to us must be the measure of a successful outcome.
Calling all #Rehablegends who work in ICU... this is our chance to change and challenge #ICU practice. Please give your feedback to this survey #SecretGardens for all #NHS trusts!

Grateful to @elbuder for her upcoming feature in @TheAtlantic to highlight the impact of surviving ICU. Critical care may save our lives, but we need support and #icurehab to give those lives back to us. #COVIDー19 will leave survivors struggling without help, as @ICUsteps know

A spotlight has been shone on the lack of #icu provision in the UK. That will have to be addressed, but rehab and support cannot be left behind. That is what makes survival worth having.

Most #icu patients will have delirium. Even in 'normal' times delusional memories leave psychological scars on survivors. Waking to a world where everyone is in space-suits and there's no reassuring family voice, that will be so much harder. Now more than ever we need #icurehab

That's so true. We must learn from the #covid_19 experience. #ICU may save our lives, but we need support and rehabilitation to give those lives back to us. Compared to treatment, rehab is cheap - even a saving in the big picture. #icurehab should not be an optional extra.

Part of a team that runs an ICU follow up clinic - aware of the systemic problems. Feel embarrassed there is often so little to offer ex patients. Perhaps the COVID numbers will force the issue. I fear some will become the forgotten. We must give them a voice!
