I'd complain about the 6 fingers but I think if you've stuck with unreal thus far you have no standards anyway

You use a normal SQL database. The end.
Recently I interviewed a Senior Engineer. Strong candidate. Kafka? ✅ Redis? ✅ Microservices? ✅ Distributed systems? ✅ Then I asked: "You're building the inventory service for a flash sale. Only 1 item left in stock." Two users hit “Buy Now” at the exact same millisecond. Both requests pass the “is available?” check. Both create an order. Both deduct stock. Now you’ve sold 2 items when only 1 existed. How do you guarantee you never oversell — even with concurrent requests, client retries, and partial failures? "Just use a database transaction." Doesn’t fully solve it if both requests read `stock = 1` before either writes, or if the response is lost and the client retries. "Check stock before deducting." What happens when both checks happen at the same time? "Use Redis DECR and reject if it goes negative." What happens if Redis is down, or the decrement succeeds but the order is never persisted? Your turn: How would you design this inventory reservation API so concurrent buyers and retries never oversell the last item? There’s a specific distributed-systems concept behind this. And you’ll encounter it everywhere inventory, tickets, seats, coupons, and limited resources are involved.

"multiple copies on different platforms." you say 🤔

It's because people aren't ignoring the yet-another-arch-derivant-with-poor-engineering. The AI label turns people into opinion machines whereas it's really nothing special after ~15 years of terrible arch derivants.

Got curious about omarchy for a sec but damn it looks like utter slop why is it even trending?

Please let it be the end instead
Just went and said to my agent in Omarchy to make the corners rounded. And it did. Then I said “install phonetic Bulgarian keyboard”. And it did. I’ve done the whole setup just literally talking to an agent. Because of the build in dictation I literally spoke to my computer to make it in the way I want it to look and work! This is pure magic! And it is just the beginning! Will post more to share the love for sure! Goal is - fully workable station for my daily job by the end of the week! @dhh good quacking job, sir!

POV: Your home address got leaked after buying a Trezor wallet
We have some difficult news to share. Unfortunately, one of our shipping providers has experienced a data breach that exposed sensitive order data. This affects new customers in the US, UK, Sweden, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, and Portugal who received an order within the 90 days prior to August 8th, 2026. The data exposed: - Full names - Shipping addresses - Phone numbers - Email addresses The incident affects 11,742 customers with full exposure (name, email, phone number, shipping address) and 1,947 customers with partial exposure (name, city, email). The breach is limited due to Trezor’s strict 90-day data storage policy (we were also able to negotiate the same terms with fulfillment partners, who follow the same policy). All affected customers have been contacted separately by email. Our systems and devices remain secure, but affected customers could experience an increase in phishing attempts. NEVER enter your wallet backup on a website or share it with anyone, and only check for updates on official Trezor channels. We are deeply sorry to the community and those affected. We are investigating this situation and will post updates on our blog: trezor.io/blog/news/recent-c…

AI is pulling up the ladder behind us 😩
"Senior reverse engineers remain essential. Even the strongest runs made semantic errors, accepted weak quality controls, and claimed readiness prematurely. We assess the best current use as supervised investigative agency, with human analysts defining objectives, exposing blind spots, and retaining final publication authority."
