Anyone out there is in the need of an accurate representation of how most "modern" software is built and used? I offer you this GIF. #sigh

Everyone's trying to make CPUs faster. I’m trying to make them worse. New project: CPU deoptimization. Searching for the slowest possible machine instructions x86 single instruction record: 198,002,498,236 cycles, 62 seconds The assembly hall of shame: github.com/xoreaxeaxeax/asm-…

I released a binary of my "fork" of the X68000 DaynaPort driver, as version "v1.3-CQ", based on @hyanoX's v1.1. Changes: it works on my Expert HD now, added multipacket mode, SSID/signal level retrieval, plus some fixes. github.com/chainq/BlueSCSI-x… #x68000

While working on the Plantronics ColorPlus support in Viaduct, I randomly found a BoingBall implementation for ColorPlus Compatible computers, published by @Retro_Erik on GitHub. Well, I'm happy to report an Amiga still runs any BoingBall better. 😁

There's now a #SecretLab in my secret lab. (Badumm, tsk...) Treated myself to a SecretLab TITAN Evo XL NanoGen™ Pure Black gaming chair. Home office means, I literally live in this chair for 8+ hours a day, so I tried to have something nice for once. No regrets so far!

The moment when during The Standup with @ThePrimeagen, @cmuratori pulls up an Amiga 2000 keyboard that just "happens to be" on his desk, because it's so amazing. Yes. YES. Thank you. 🥹 (Below is my desk, as illustration. Yes, I'm also a McIntosh user, running McOS. 😅)

I was actually 8. The computer was a Commodore 16, at school. BASIC, and the complexity of home computers was totally approachable. In fact, I was writing programs before I knew I was writing programs. It was literally a child's play. But also a bit mandatory for using the thing.
Genuine question: how did all of you at 12 (or whenever you first started coding) not get super overwhelmed when your first tried to make something simple on the computer and realized you needed so much background knowledge to even get started?

So I bought a Rejuvenator for my Amiga 1000, never had time to test it, so offloaded it to this guy 👇, to make it Internet-famous. I've seen the A1k working already with the Rejuvenator installed, heard the stories of getting it working, but still fun to watch. #amiga

Since the @berlin_creators Retro Computer Meeting yesterday, the X68000 has 12MB of RAM, thanks to a GALSPanic v2 memory expansion! Built by @GrahamTinkers. Also thanks to @DotMatrixSpook for the PCB and Stan2k for the Open Hardware GALSPanic v2. github.com/stas2k/galspanic #x68000

So @LinkedIn suspended my account for "suspicious activity", and now they ask for my ID, which they expect to contain the same name as my LinkedIn account, which it does not because of falsehoods developers believe about names. So I'm officially off LinkedIn. #idiots #microsoft

Fun fact - they already have my phone number, and I had 2FA enabled on this junk with the M$ Authenticator App. I just wonder what triggered this idiotic "protection" system. Using a "+" email alias as primary? Having the word "hacker" in the Bio? Traveling to Switzerland? #sigh

Update: all of the bot/spam/social media "expert" accounts offering me to "recover" it by "DM"ing them, can collectively fuck off. Good reminder why I stayed off this place lately.

Honestly, @Skype became the worst kind of stinking pile of hot poo in recent memory. They added Bing and AI into every corner of it - something no one asked for - and for the 2nd time in a month, they pushed out an update that pulls a single core to 100% constantly.

But like honestly, if I was tasked to write something as slow, as buggy, and as extremely annoying to the user as I can, I still could not deliver something this horrid. It takes extreme talent, I give them that. I stand in awe. End of rant.

FAQ: - No, the 100% CPU in Skype Renderer is not Mac specific, at least the last time it happened on Windows too. - Yes it matters, it halves my M2 MacBook's battery life, and makes it warm to the touch (first app ever to do that!). - I use it, because "things I do for family"...

Hey @A1200NET, when do backers who got the badly printed >/< key (near the left shift) as part of their Black sets get a fixed one delivered? Should I ask for it? Still waiting for a replacement key for two sets... (And I don't even dare to ask about the CD32 colors any more...)

Update: The bad: I was told I'll get the tracking number when the keycaps are shipped, but I had to specifically ask for it a week later... The good: and this is more important - they were actually shipped on the originally promised schedule. Should be here next week-ish.

Update: The corrected @A1200NET Black < / > keycaps are here! Got two AMIGA keyfobs as bonus merch. Nice. Everything is looking good. (For now... 😉)
