In the Victorian imagination the crow was never simply a bird. He was the clever one, the keeper of secrets, the figure who watched the season turn from the top of the fence post. Our Halloween Black Crow gives him the dignity that reputation deserves.
Among our Halloween Santas, this one seems to have stepped straight out of the Victorian imagination, where All Hallows' Eve and St. Nicholas were never far apart on the calendar.
In October, the work in our Artists' Studio turns with the leaves. Our artists are painting Halloween and the rest of autumn's favorites, which will be released over the next few weeks.
We begin with the Autumn Santa.
Back after nearly three decades. The Halloween Black Cat first appeared in our ornament collection in 1997, in the years our figural glass was produced in Germany, and has been out of reach ever since.
Arched over a moonlit night, with a grinning jack-o'-lantern beneath one paw and a picket fence on the reverse, the cat is the ornament itself. Mouth-blown and hand-painted in Poland.

Most can only be seen in person at our newly renovated Retail Gallery in Sutton, and for many, this may be the only chance to see an example of its kind. Visit often, as new pieces are added as we unpack and document them.
