Today marks the 36th yahrtzeit of Rav Meir Kahane, Hashem yikom damo. A Yid who said things that so many people were simply not ready to hear.
And here we are, 36 years later.
Everyone is busy trying to figure out who won the elections, who lost, who's going to join whom, and what the next coalition will look like.
But do we realize what's happening beneath all of this? Are we really seeing what's unfolding before our eyes?
There are truths that are terribly uncomfortable to face. But maybe that's exactly why we need to face them.
Be'ezrat Hashem.

If doesn't surprise me at all that Qatar tried to buy the Israeli election.
They bought American colleges, media outlets and Tucker Carlson, so why not cut out all the middlemen and buy Israel directly?
🇶🇦🇮🇱 BREAKING: The chairman of Israel's Central Elections Committee just sent the head of the Shin Bet a letter saying he has "solid" information that Qatar tried to buy the Israeli election with tens of millions of shekels.
The Shin Bet had this before election day and said nothing. He is giving them one week to investigate.
This is the Deputy President of the Supreme Court putting it in writing. More to come.

BREAKING: Netanyahu’s Likud party is sounding the alarm over alleged massive ELECTION FRAUD by Arab islamist parties, accusing them of undermining Israel’s democracy through cash-for-votes schemes, voter intimidation, and widespread polling violations.
Likud is submitting hundreds of testimonies and demanding an immediate CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION by police and the Shin Bet.

Smotrich has been an excellent Finance Minister and besides his big mouth and tasteless theatricals Ben Gvir has also been a pretty good National Security Minister.
Despite that, Netanyahu has always prefered a wide-centrist government if possible.
Unfortunately, the brainwashed frothing-at-the-mouth Bibi haters to the left of Likud refuse to create a coalition with him, since they see him and his voters as the real enemies and not Hamas (their words not mine), and quite seriously prefer a coalition with the Muslim Brotherhood party and other parties openly committed to the destruction of the State of Israel.
So there you have it.

The anti Ben Gvir and Smotrich talking point is very common in the West under the theory that Israel would be embraced again if only the Israeli Right wing was sidelined. But that love would last only a few minutes, if that long.
The post October 7th reality is nearly ALL Israelis want leaders to stand strong against the threats that surround them and not make concessions that will endanger their security. Half the country may hate Bibi, but they frankly wouldn't change most of his military policies.
Naive thinking gave away Gaza and didn't see the ongoing threat of the Iranian backed militarized enemies in Israel's north and south. Going back to that place is suicidal, even if you think a few more members of Congress will then be less hostile to Israel.
Electing an Israeli Left wing government may feel good for some Americans, but it will never be enough to appease the growing hatred for Israel in the minds of college students and the media, poisoned by a decades long Qatari funded hate campaign.
I would love it if Israeli politicians were always diplomatic, but sometimes they have to be brutally honest. It may hurt our ears, but we don't suffer the same consequences that they do.
Israeli voters don't have the luxury of being wrong again about those who are determined to destroy their country and the Jews who live there. Picking olives is easy. Protecting Jews is much harder.
If we truly support the only democracy in the Middle East, we should let them elect their own government, and not pretend that these two guys are the real obstacle to peace, love and harmony.
I said I wasn’t going to weigh in on who should be prime minister of Israel as that is a decision for Israeli citizens. I did, however, want to share one point of view from the perspective of someone who has an understanding of how Israel is perceived in America.
Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich have caused Israel enormous reputational damage with their statements and actions which are presented in the global media as representing the voice and will of all Israelis.
As such, a government formed without Ben-Gvir and Smotrich will send a message to the rest of the world that Israel is turning a new page.
This will allow Israel to rebuild lost credibility, increase the opportunity for an expansion of the Abraham Accords, and enjoy a better relationship with Democrats and Republicans and Americans at large.

FEATURED POST
Fear is silencing the Charedi Public’s attempts at discussion
I'm running for Knesset and want to explain my passion for the new Haredi party, but it's inviting threats. That's coercion, not the Torah's model of dispute
By Rav Yehuda Oppenheimer in TOI
We are currently in a state of affairs where rabbis are silenced, families threatened, and private gatherings have become dangerous places to express opinions. In the Haredi world, religious persuasion has turned into political coercion and is carried out in the name of Torah. This needs to change.
A Home Gathering Becomes a Test of Loyalty
I tried to organize a small gathering in a private home in Afula, where I live. I was not organizing a rally or asking a synagogue to sponsor a political event. I wanted to sit with people, explain why I am passionate about the HaTzibur HaCharedi party, and discuss questions that deserve an honest conversation inside our community.
I did not even consider asking the local shul where I used to daven to host the gathering. I knew that a shul connected to the campaign could face pressure, and I did not want to put its members or its plans for expansion at risk. Instead, I asked a friend who shares many of my concerns whether he would open his home.
The answer came quickly. A rabbi called him and told him that hosting me would be a terrible idea, and that both of us would be unwelcome. My friend was told that the shul hoped to obtain municipal land for an expansion, and that people whose support mattered might look unfavorably on the community if they heard that some of its members had attended a meeting for our party. The message was unmistakable: host this gathering, and the shul’s plans could be jeopardized.

If the Christian giants pitchers had wrote F*CK Trump on their hat or some disgustingly vulgar message describing who they want in their bedroom, the MLB would be hyping it up, probably have a big press release celebrating “bravery.”
The bible verses are only an issue bc it’s Christianity! We cannot allow the left to keep punishing people for their faith!

My initial reaction to Trump's statement was "that's insane." But on second thought, he's probably right.
Syria's government would do a better job wiping out Hezbollah, because they aren't constrained by a moral code. Unlike Israel, Syria doesn't care about civilian casualties.
