With recordings analysis, club visits & 1-2-1 session, we aim to provide insightful, actionable feedback to help coxes develop their skills.
At Chattercox we work with coxswains, coaches, and crews to turn all "negative" feedback into *actionable* feedback instead.
An essential skill for any coxswain who wishes to improve is learning how to respond to negative feedback. rowingnews.com/2023/07/04/cr…
And just like that it's @HenleyRegatta qualifiers! If you are racing today take advantage of the extra opportunity - practice your race plan, steering close to the booms, and the feeling of being out there in the warm up area on a busy day.

There are really only two or three really important distance makers to identify & learn. It is far more important to be able to steer dead straight along the entire course. Practice alongside the booms as much as you can & focus on steering above everything else.

Try not to look at the booms - you run the risk of getting drawn toward them! Use the tower of St. Mary’s as your visual reference point instead.
Oh, and don’t try to get cute by coming off your station when you’re up 🙄
On the eve of @HenleywRegatta and with 1 week until @HenleyRegatta, we'd love to hear your top tips for coxing between the iconic booms.
Ours is to make sure you know the distance markers!
In the hot weather its just as important for coxes to stay hydrated. Also think about adding some high SPF sunscreen to your tool kit!
☀️ 🥵 it's looking like it'll be a warm one this weekend! Please make sure supporters and athletes come prepared with plenty of water, sunscreen 🧴 and sun hats 🧢. See you there! #rowing #itsgettinghot #stayhydrated
Great article about our friend @HenryFieldman and his European Champs antics
Doubling up in two different crews is far from unheard of – but most rowers are able to plan in advance for such a situation. That was not the case for British cox Henry Fieldman in Bled last weekend. How did he do? Well, a gold and a silver medal 🤩

Asking a friendly fast (W)4- where they had issues is always useful. Also watch how the local masters crews steer the course……they just know. And if you walk the course in the morning ask a marshal, not an umpire. Marshals are from the club. 🤫

We can only hope that all regattas can be as thoughtful as @ReadingAM and provide handy course postcards for steerspeople!
