But in practice this was far more impressive than just a boring win. Was the most dominant Spurs performance I can remember. Total control throughout and could have scored a hatful. Still think there's a lot of growth/improvement to come in final third.

I've seen us make much more of a meal out of games like today's. We finally have an identity again & lots of maligned players are showing their worth. That Bentancur red card may be De Zerbi's version of Kanes freekick at Villa for Poch. Plenty of work to do, but the worm turns

Need some guile and to keep the intensity up with our subs after half time. They will always carry a small threat and we don't need to let it get edgy. The man advantage has made us slightly nervous & simplified things for Palace. Maddison & Porro could open things up.

Special mention to an unsung hero this season who has really stepped up and goes about his job with no fuss and a very good guy who will play anywhere on the pitch without any moans! Archie Gray 👏👏

Think this is tactically the worst start of any Clearlake coach, because of this. Direct play is ok but we’re literally just playing long, not in behind. In possession, there isn’t a structure. Bad execution is forgivable, I need to see something soon IP or I’m out on him.

We all know what's coming, but it's great to see us play good, brave, football especially at the Bridge. Lots to be positive about. If Gallagher and Solanke could come on and dole out some old ex's revenge, that would be very welcome

Finally some joy at the Lane. Winning is a habit that we've long lost, but it's clear to me that we've been moving in the right direction for a while now. It's going to take some time to be genuinely good but with a little luck, we'll get there.

Low blocks + direct attacks always make for a tricky obstacle. We need to keep our heads, especially as the game goes on if it's still 1-0. The crowd will get edgy and Coventry will throw more forward. But there will be more space on the break, so keeping our nerve will be key 😬

Marmoush not finding space & too many attacks end down the left because Robertson doesn't take his man on & VdV can't break the lines. Largely good performances & Madders makes a huge difference. Can't help but think they'll score one, so we need another.

Also think we'll get nervous, so will need to show character & use subs well. I think Tel has a role to play. It's a shame VdV & Senesi aren't great in the air, as Micky central & Sensei left would be much better. Gray deserves credit, as does Tonali

So long as the players know what they're doing out of possession, I think there's plenty of value springing a suprise tonight. Marmoush playing off Solanke with Madders in behind could be lovely, but it's a big reshuffle & we can't afford to wrong foot ourselves by mistake

In this era where build up & pressing patterns are so well drilled, a surprise can easily give an advantage until the opponent has time to respond - unless the plan doesn't work in the first place. Coaches are criticised for only having a plan A, so let's see.

It's of value if an opposing manager is not be sure how the team he's facing will shape up but it also risks killing momentum
