Microsoft, $MSFT, is winding down a deal to rent AI cloud capacity from Oracle, $ORCL, per Bloomberg. The reason: over time, the Oracle computing it was renting became less useful because it no longer fit Microsoft’s specifications. The hardware ran on older-generation Nvidia chips, according to people familiar.

Being right years ahead of others isn’t nearly as satisfying as people think. Nobody apologizes for treating you like a crazy. They just come back years later, repeating what you told them as if it’s some groundbreaking revelation because they finally heard it from someone else.

I don’t recommend this approach. Many of the elite engineers I’ve ever met put everything into their daily work cuz they on purpose chose a role/company/challenge they are truly passionate about & put a lot of extra effort into the company This is a lazy way to judge autonomy.
From a startup founder: “it’s now a red flag for me if I don’t see side projects on someone’s resume / application, because it signals lack of autonomy. Because it’s now so trivial to build anything on the side, vs before.”

this will sound mean but PLEASE get over things faster. You don’t want to waste your good years being angry, bitter, and sad.

Why are devs expected to have no life outside of tech?

Looking at sunsets really make me feel grateful and alive. It’s always the little things.
I’m struck by how many people don’t pay attention to the sky. It’s literally a pleasure to see the clouds, the stars, the sun, and the moon.

Claude opus 5.5 does basic code-reading wrong, it incorrectly linked two disjoint code paths and performed analysis, bloated the conversation. I am day by day inclining towards writing code by hand instead

This platform is full of intellectual, hilarious weirdos and I’m here for it.

You can tell me all about your agentic workflows, but if you’re in a real business where critical thinking matters, AI reliance paradox kicks in where the more you rely on AI, the less capable you are in understanding what you’re achieving.

HOLY: Anthropic's Claude Code engineer Addy Osmani is warning about a brutal AI paradox: the more coding you hand to agents, the more you risk losing the very skills needed to supervise them. He calls it "cognitive surrender." AI-generated code looks pristine, tests pass, and engineers start approving work they no longer understand. Anthropic's own research warns: "supervising Claude requires the very coding skills that may atrophy from AI overuse." Osmani makes a striking observation: "When you're producing more than you can stand behind, you're no longer reviewing. You're hoping."

I think being tall is a disadvantage in pickleball for some reason I can’t quite explain. It just is.

Being tall messes with you when you’re ideally supposed to leave a ball that’s already going out, but it’s kinda below your waistline. On the contrary, an average individual would get a much better read on when to leave the ball

Cisco is about to discover from first principles why the biggest of AI labs are still hiring software engineers and paying them like insane when they too could have spent unlimited tokens and given the stick to a 27 year old.

He beat cancer and then immediately went back to tweeting about how AI sucks. That's my pope 🙏

Machines are tools, not persons. Today, some propose granting these systems rights, or even legal personhood. Such an approach risks obscuring human responsibility and leaving those who suffer harm to confront a faceless entity.

I have no interest in joining the big AI labs, but it’s kinda interesting that some of them reach out to me in 2026, someone who never worked in FAANG or any big name companies, especially when they have a whole swath of people just waiting to have a chance with them.

Waterboarding as a word isn’t nearly as hostile sounding as it what it actually means.

Become self reliant, don’t rely on the smartest people in the room, don’t rely on the system, don’t rely on anyone else than your own instinct and self awareness. No one is coming to save you.
And I would have sued. If she’s 10 fucking centimeters someone should have been at the end of the bed already. That baby could have slipped out and hit his head if that dad wasn’t looking. Nurses walking around looking confused asf. He looks irritated and rightfully so.
