let's celebrate this one 🍾 $NEAR just landed on Gemini, and it's a bigger deal than it looks.
Gemini is the Winklevoss twins' exchange. it's public on Nasdaq, regulated as a New York trust company, and built on asking regulators for permission instead of forgiveness. when a venue that careful lists a coin, serious money notices.
and it's the real coin. deposits and withdrawals are live, so you can buy NEAR there, send it to your own wallet and actually use the chain.
now zoom out. Robinhood listed NEAR in March. the first US spot NEAR ETF started trading on NYSE Arca in September. Gemini in October. one regulated door after another, all in one year.
each of those doors lets in buyers who were never going to touch a DEX. that's why this one gets the champagne. very bullish $NEAR

HSP-029 update: the Chicago NEAR City Node voted yes.
Now 16 voters, about 1.93M votes, almost all yes. Turnout is 36.6%, past the 35% needed. Voting ends Nov 2.

Today is the 6th anniversary of @NEARProtocol MainNet!
A lot of great tech has shipped since Oct. 13, 2020 – but our vision has not changed: all people should be able to control their own assets, data, and power of choice. We all deserve access to tools and technology that enhance our sovereignty, intelligence, and opportunity – and in many ways this mission feels even more urgent than it did when we started NEAR 8 years ago.
The last year has brought some great milestones:
–@near_intents has moved $34B in volume, up from $2B this time last year
–Intents integrated 15 more chains for a total of 35, with dozens of app integrations
–Launched Confidential Intents, which grew to $3B as of today in volume and $170m TVL
–near(dot)com launched & shipped tons of new features in under a year
–Near One shipped dynamic resharding and post-quantum signing
–Achieved 1M TPS in a public benchmark
–@near_ai is providing confidential inference to Venice, Brave Browser, and the government of Bermuda – and is now available on OpenRouter
–Token economics upgrades shifted towards greater value capture, including inflation halving, the Intents fee switch, and revenue generation
–Launched House of Stake 2.0 and formalized tokenholder governance
–@alexskidanov made major strides towards cheap, scalable formal verification
–First NEAR ETF with @bitwise and first public treasury company launched @svrn_ai
This only scratches the surface of our ecosystem’s achievements this year – thank you to all in the @NEARProtocol community, whether you’re a new believer or were there at the beginning. Let’s keep building in a positive-sum mindset and watch everyone else catch up.
