Made my first $1 online yesterday.
One actual dollar, paid for something I built.
I'm aware this isn't yet a viable alternative to employment. Still absurdly pleased about it.
Two developers have now paid $2 to publicly admit they didn’t ship.
My favourite on the wall so far is painfully relatable.
What’s yours?
Good morning folks! How’s your Sunday?
It’s a slow one here. Fed the kids banana pancakes, now running errands that the DIY store.
Dog walk and pub lunch later. Laptop staying closed.
Now…home for coffee.
What’s the best excuse you’ve used for not shipping?
Spent the afternoon turning feedback from @thejacobpeggs into features for a site about not shipping: sharper hook, shareable cards, free reactions, and an Excuse of the Week.
Your project made $0. At least make it famous.
Morning team. What are you building?
Flu and wet weather both cleared overnight.
Yesterday was a massive PulseWatch & agent workflow day. Today is football, a Pokémon tournament, and the DIY list.
But first, coffee.
Been sick for a few days, so not much building on PulseWatch.
Apparently I’m still incapable of leaving it alone.
I put my AI “team” to work on a 30-second promo. They made the video. I complained about the music.
A script never starts. No error. No log.
How long before you notice?”
Good morning team!
I’m 90% back. Three days lost to flu wasn’t the plan, but there you go.
Caffeine loading…
How’s are you doing today? What are you building?
GM!
Unbelievably, still sick. Kinda over it. Coffee helps.
How are you all getting on? What are you building today?
What actually makes a vibecoder?
If you’re shipping with Claude or Codex, you’re describing the thing and checking the diff. That’s most of us now.
So who still counts, and who just doesn’t want the label?
A month ago I said point the model at Riemann.
They just did.
OpenAI dropped an AI-generated proof of the quasi-Riemann hypothesis (no zeros with real part > 7/8). Serious number theorists are working through it and largely think it holds.
The full RH is still open but bloody hell.
I’m genuinely blown away by OpenAI’s Navier–Stokes result.
But I’m conflicted too.
The questions around training data and parallel human work matter. So does a major scientific discovery being made with a private, unreleased model significantly beyond what anyone else can access.
Science works best in the open. I’m not sure I love discovery becoming a private capability.
Still…what an extraordinary result.
Morning team! Thanks to all who checked in yesterday. I owe you all a coffee.
Still sick so taking another day. Is it weird that I’m missing my laptop?
Let me live vicariously; what are you building/shipping today?
Full of flu. Sofa day.
Slow start, but the coffee happened. Not opening the laptop.
What are you dodging today?
#2 on Uneed. Didn’t expect that.
PulseWatch launched today. It emails you when a scheduled job goes missing, fails, or gets stuck. Two monitors free.
Genuinely grateful. What’s the job you’d want watched first?
