How fun is this! Students from the @Chssparta Orchestra 🎻 entertained our library lunch crowd today. The best part is this was entirely the students’ initiative. 💙💙💙

When someone tells me to "play it safe",I think about these 9 brave individuals who walked into a segregated library in MS in 1961. They were told to leave, they refused, and were arrested.I think about their courage, and I get up and keep fighting.

In the 2 weeks after Labor Day, 677 *different* students—nearly a quarter of our student body—visited the commons in just 9 school days!
Over 213 student sign-ins per day. (And this doesn’t include class visits or Ss who just come in for password resets.)

It’s great to see students settling in and getting comfortable working in their new learning commons!

A view of this afternoon’s torrential downpour through the windows of the Commons. When the storm hit, students rushed to the windows to see. It’s great to be this connected to what’s going on outside (while staying dry)!
Today was “desk day”! Up until today, we’ve been working off tables and bookshelves and rifling around in cardboard boxes on the floor. But today we got our circulation desk AND our office desks. We don’t yet have network cabling everywhere we need it, but still a banner day. – at Georgia, USA
One of the best things about the “new” Campbell learning commons is that it is actually a recycled space—built in the shell of the former auditorium. When you visit, you’ll notice exposed beams and other loft-like details throughout... 1/2 – at Georgia, USA
Welcome to the NEW Campbell Commons! Sneak preview Tuesday before school and during all lunches. Opening Thursday 7:45-3:45!
Congrats to @andyspinks for receiving the GLMA Intellectual Freedom Award today. #GLMASI21 #CobbLMS @Chssparta #THISISCOBB
