Maryland is bankrupt. So, @mddems & @GovWesMoore plan to expand the sales tax to services. It’s a massive hit on middle-class affordability.
Here’s a list of services that have been targeted in these expansions (currently untaxed):
• Home repair and improvement (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, general contracting)
• Auto mechanic and repair labor
• Childcare
• Residential home cleaning
• Dry cleaning and personal laundry
• Veterinary services and pet care
• Landscaping, lawn care, and tree removal
• Accounting, tax preparation, and financial planning
• Gym memberships and personal training
• Grocery delivery and related shipping
• Barber, beauty, and nail salon services
• Funeral services
• Real estate-related services and certain transportation/towing
These are not luxury extras. They are the routine expenses of owning a home, keeping a car running, working while raising kids, maintaining a yard, or handling basic life events.
Adding sales tax raises the price of keeping a household running.
Maryland already taxes cell phone service. Proposals would layer the same approach onto more of the services middle-class families use every month or year.
That is the opposite of making Maryland more affordable.

Let's not forget that the taxpaying public us now on the hook for $1.5 trillion in federalized student loans. A couple of hundred billion lost already. Obama promised that the feds owning the loans would SAVE us $60 billion.
They learn nothing and care about nothing but their party.

When a candidate runs an ad like this, accusing a country of 7 million people of causing inflation in the U.S., it's time for his party to repudiate him, not have ex-presidents singing his praises.
We know why the U.S. attacked Iran, and it wasn't just because of Israel. They are our only consistent ally in the Middle East.
In fact, neither Israel nor Ukraine caused inflation.

Chris Rock makes a distinction here that more people need to hear.
We keep calling outrage culture a sensitivity problem. He says it’s a meanness problem. Those lead to completely different fixes.
If people were just sensitive, the answer would be to tiptoe around them. If they’re mean, the answer is to stop rewarding the pile-on. Context gets ignored because context kills the opportunity to be cruel.
His alternative costs nothing: ask “what did you mean by that?” before deciding to be angry.
Couldn’t agree more. Meanness found a costume.
