I've been working with @niclasernst and his team @permanent for a while now to support some amazing companies with their websites, and it's led to significantly better work than we've been able to do on our own at Oratory.
To make this relationship more official, they've bought a strategic stake in the company and we're launching a new design service, taking the best parts of Oratory and the best parts of the work we've done with PERMANENT -- and forming them into a new thing.
That new thing is called MOMENT.
Everything that we do is in service of helping companies build the function that turns a business from "technically works" into "people want this, trust this, remember this, and keep paying for this."
Today I'm excited to announce two additional service companies that are joining the @permanent family.

Making the right introductions has always been one of my favorite parts of what we do at PERMANENT.
Somewhere along the way it became obvious this deserved to be its own thing.
Very happy to finally share placement.is.
Hello world.
This is PLACEMENT.
For years, design hiring was part of what we did at @permanent.
We helped companies build their teams, met hundreds of brilliant designers, and made a lot of introductions that turned into something meaningful.
Along the way, we learned something pretty simple:
The best design hiring starts before there’s a job to fill. And it works best when people are actually known, not just “sourced”.
Eventually, it stopped making sense to keep that network inside PERMANENT.
So we made it its own thing.
Too many founders and designers who would be great together never cross paths.
PLACEMENT exists so they do.
Come say hi at placement.is

I will be in NY (March 1-7), SF (9-17 March), and LA (19-24 March) with @leonguaiana. We’re looking for good conversations and connections you can’t make over Zoom. If you’re around, we’d love to hang out.
We’re hosting an intimate dinner for designers in each city. Limited space but we’ll do our best.
Two years since starting @permanent. Exciting times.

After months of building, @obvious is now public! 🎉 We created a place where AI can help you get work done. That's it.
Proud of what this team has pulled off, and there is so much more to come. Curious to see what you'll make with it.

Listen raises $100M. It’s been fantastic working with Alfred and Florian, and I couldn’t be more excited that we @permanent helped them find their founding designer @brannonwell at the end of last year after working together. Good stuff to come from this team.
Helping @hugodiaz and @albertzimtea become full time kick ass designers
Over the last few months I've been closely working with @okwow66328 to build a new form of Human AI collaboration to bring ideas to life. I'm super excited for what's next.

For decades, technology was inching closer to being more personal, more intuitive, more human.
80s: point and click instead of cryptic commands
90s: the web remembered our preferences.
2000s: touchscreens let us touch our ideas.
2010s: devices predicted our needs...

complex, technical and data heavy applications don't need to be information dense. a highly information dense application is generally lazy design and contributes to cognitive overload.
give users everything without having to show them everything.
Most people are missing the mark, building a chat adjacent to a tool is not the future, it’s just replacing an assistant with a cheaper one.
Focus on solving real problems, and then consider if AI can help you shape the solution.

I'm sick of Americans believing Europe can't build great companies anymore.
Europe has incredible talent, plenty of capital and a number of exciting challenges to solve. I deeply believe the next generation of founders in Europe will transform this continent.
And I'm excited to play a humble role in it with Project Europe – a €10M fund to invest in the next generation of European builders backed by 125+ of the best founders.
Can't wait to see what we can do together, @HarryStebbings @fabiankamberi @joelhellermark @vriparbelli @matiii @rinaonur @Stjerrild @maxlinden1609 ♥️

Sharing a few thoughts about my experience building remote Design teams at GitHub—why remote work isn’t just an option, but a competitive edge.
The best talent isn’t bound by location. Don’t sleep on global talent 🚀
