It's Election Day! 🇺🇸🗳️ There are plenty of consequential races happening across the country today, but here in the Free State of Florida, one of the biggest issues we're keeping an eye on is the push to abolish property taxes. Can we get the 60% voter approval needed to make it happen? Love him or hate him, I think Governor Ron DeSantis has done an incredible job leading Florida over the past eight years. Do I agree with everything he's done? Absolutely not. But we've got a balanced budget, a healthy rainy day fund, and perhaps most importantly, our cigars are STILL tax-free! 😂💨 And speaking of cigars, it only seems fitting to celebrate Election Day with a little Florida-grown goodness. I'm enjoying an FSG, made with tobacco grown right here in the Sunshine State at the @FloridaSunGrown farm in Clermont, Florida. You can find these cigars exclusively at @CoronaCigarCo . Oh, and one more thing... We've got the coolest "I Voted" stickers in the country. 🇺🇸😎 Get out and vote!

This is a tale of two packages. One designed by someone who clearly understands the consumer, and the other designed by someone who apparently hates humanity. 😂 First up, the @UnitedCigars Independence cigar I'm currently enjoying. The packaging? Fantastic. A sturdy metal box with a hinged lid that's actually useful long after the cigars are gone. It's attractive, functional, reusable, and clearly designed with the end consumer in mind. Somebody at United understood the assignment. Now, on the opposite end of the packaging intelligence spectrum, we have @greatstufffoam expanding foam sealant. Good Lord, I hate these cans. The stuff works great, but the packaging? An absolute disaster. I've probably gone through over 100 cans of this stuff in my lifetime, and I bet I've actually emptied fewer than 10 of them. This particular can? I used maybe 25%. The other 75% is now destined for the trash because once you start using it, the clock starts ticking. It leaks, the straw clogs, and unless you're planning on performing a full surgical cleaning of the nozzle and straw, you're probably never using it again. And yes, before someone jumps into the comments, I KNOW you can clean the straw and nozzle. But let's be serious. Nobody wants to spend 20 minutes performing maintenance on a $7 can of foam. 😂 Here's a revolutionary idea: MAKE SMALLER CANS! How has nobody in the boardroom figured this out yet? Surely I'm not the only person who needs to fill one little gap without insulating an entire neighborhood. So here's today's packaging report card: 🏆 United Cigars: A+ for packaging that's attractive, practical, and reusable. 💩 Great Stuff: F for making me throw away perfectly good product for the hundredth time. United Cigars, keep up the great work. Great Stuff, do better. Buy United, Smoke United, Live United! UNITED WE SMOKE! 🇺🇸💨 – at Warm Mineral Springs, FL

It's finally done! As an avid cigar smoker, I've always wanted a Cigar Store Indian, but the price has always put it out of reach, so I designed a miniature 10-inch version printed in PLA filament infused with real wood! Now available on the Cigar prop website! cigarprop.com/shop/10-inch-c…

It's funny how the cigar community has a way of bringing people together when you least expect it. Today, we had some new cabinets and butcher block countertops delivered as we get ready to move our 3D printers out of my office and into the lounge. With demand continuing to grow, I had to order two more printers, bringing us to nine. And trust me, nine printers in one office is just too much! 😂 We've always had pretty good luck with the people who come to do work for us or make deliveries. Somehow, they almost always turn out to be cigar smokers. Well, today was no exception, but this one came with a pretty cool story. One of the gentlemen delivering our cabinets recently moved to the United States from Cuba, where he spent his career rolling cigars. How cool is that?! Of course, when Jessica found out, she invited him into our humidor. He looked around in absolute amazement as she told him to pick out any cigar he wanted. After taking it all in, his eyes landed on The Jester by @artesanotobacco He told Jessica it was the most interesting-looking cigar in the humidor, and that was the one he wanted. So naturally, that's the cigar I decided to wind down my evening with tonight. My only regret is that I wasn't home for the delivery. I would have loved to sit down with this gentleman, light up a cigar, and listen to his stories. I probably could have talked to him for hours. A guy who spent his career rolling cigars in Cuba ends up delivering cabinets to a cigar lover's house in Florida. What are the odds? It's little moments like this that remind me why I love the cigar community so much. Different backgrounds, different journeys, but one shared passion that brings us all together. 💨🇨🇺 – at Warm Mineral Springs, FL

The first cigar on Sunday has to be something special. Why? Because I'm usually just coming off a 24-hour fast, and let's just say I'm not always the most pleasant person to be around. 😂 Even after I've had dinner, it takes a little while for the crankiness to wear off. But I've found that a really good cigar has a way of speeding up that process. Tonight's attitude adjustment comes courtesy of the @room101cigars Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro. I'm only a little ways into it, and I'm already starting to feel like myself again. Amazing what a little food and some good tobacco can do for a man's disposition. 😂💨 – at Warm Mineral Springs, FL

The boxes you see behind me represent the finish line of a project that Jessica and I started nearly a year ago. Without question, this has been the biggest, most complicated, and at times most frustrating 3D printing project we've ever taken on. Dozens of design changes, dozens upon dozens of prototypes, countless headaches, and more than a few moments of questioning what the hell we got ourselves into. All of that led to 30 straight days of printing, 24 hours a day, with our machines running practically nonstop. There were plenty of sleepless nights, including more than a few times when one of us had to get out of bed in the middle of the night to restart a printer because somebody forgot to do something. And yes, there were a few arguments along the way. 😂 But we pushed through, and now we're finally looking at the finish line. Hopefully, in about a month, you'll start seeing these unique cigar boxes showing up on retailer shelves. And when you do, just know that Jessica and I had our hands on every single one of them. We printed them, assembled them, and dealt with every headache that came with bringing them to life. The funny thing is, most people will never know we had anything to do with these boxes. They'll see them, admire them, and give the cigar brand owner all the credit. And you know what? I'm perfectly fine with that. We were hired to bring someone's vision to life, not to have our names attached to it. Sometimes the satisfaction comes from knowing what you accomplished, even if nobody else knows the story behind it. But we'll know. And that's good enough for me. So tonight, as I sit here looking at the culmination of a year's worth of work, I'm going to light up this @EspanolaCigar 30th Anniversario, enjoy a little peace and quiet, and appreciate what we managed to pull off. Because tomorrow, I'm sure we'll find another ridiculous project to get ourselves into. 😂 #CigarProp #3DPrinting #CigarLife #BehindTheScenes #SmallBusiness – at Warm Mineral Springs, FL

Well, color me surprised! Somehow, someway, I managed to pass my ASE test in Manual Transmissions and Drivetrains. For the life of me, I have absolutely no idea how. 😂 But a pass is a pass, and I'm sure as hell not complaining! Since I was already in the area, I figured I'd celebrate by swinging by @CoronaCigarCo Sarasota and enjoying an @FloridaSunGrown Farm Rolled. Here's the thing about FSG tobacco. It's incredibly polarizing. Some people absolutely hate it, some people think it's just okay, and then there are people like me who can't get enough of it. And if you're in that last category, you owe it to yourself to try an FSG Farm Rolled. Why? Because it's 100% Florida Sun Grown tobacco. Wrapper, binder, and filler. Nothing else. That unmistakable FSG "twang" that people either love or hate? It's there in all its glory. Front and center, from the first puff to the last, and everywhere in between. This cigar is unapologetically FSG, and that's exactly why I love it. – at Sarasota, FL

Tomorrow, I get to do one of my least favorite things in the world: take my ASE recertification test for Manual Drivetrain and Axles. I've had this test scheduled for a month, which means I've had an entire month to study. Have I studied? Of course not. Between trying to wrap up a couple of massive 3D printing jobs and everything else going on, studying hasn't exactly been at the top of my priority list. Plus, I absolutely HATE this test. It took me about a dozen attempts to finally pass it the first time, and I've since failed the recertification twice. If my company didn't pay us a bonus for passing these things, I wouldn't bother taking any of them. Here's the problem. I don't rebuild transmissions. I don't replace clutches. Manual drivetrains just aren't something I deal with regularly. Hell, I might see one manual transmission vehicle come through the shop in an entire month. Even the other lead tech I work with might only see a repair order involving a manual transmission diagnosis a couple of times a year. It's hard to stay proficient at something you almost never do. The one advantage I have is that every time I fail this damn test, I go back through my study book and highlight the things I remember struggling with. So, at this point, my book is starting to look like a highlighter exploded all over it. Maybe all those failed attempts will finally pay off tomorrow. Fingers crossed. And if I fail again? Well, I'm not exactly going to lose any sleep over it. 😂 Now, on to something considerably more enjoyable. Tonight's cigar. I was really craving a Perla Del Mar Corojo from @JCNewmanCigars , which happens to be one of my favorites. Unfortunately, it's also Jessica's absolute favorite cigar. So naturally, I had to sneak past her office and raid her humidor. Mission accomplished. Cigar acquired. There's just one tiny problem. I took her last one. 😬 Now I've got to figure out how to replace it before she notices. And considering she goes through multiple boxes of these things every year, there's a pretty good chance she's going to notice sooner rather than later. So tomorrow, I've got two challenges ahead of me. Pass my ASE recertification test. And somehow survive Jessica discovering that I smoked her last Perla Del Mar Corojo. I'm honestly not sure which one I'm more worried about. 😂💨 – at Warm Mineral Springs, FL
