Beyond ALIEN, Skerritt’s celebrated career spanned THE DEAD ZONE (1983), THE DEVIL’S RAIN (1975), POLTERGEIST III (1988), and PICKET FENCES (1992-1996), earning him generations of admirers across genre film and television. He was 93.

BREAKING: Mike Ditka, the NFL Hall of Famer who coached the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl victory, has died, his family said. He was 86.
"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Mike Ditka," a family statement said. "While the world knew Mike as a Hall of Fame football player, legendary coach, and leader of the Chicago Bears' Super Bowl XX championship team, we knew him as the he art of our family."
