2) This is our river, 'La Pava,' a well-known water source across the city. It has been contaminated for years, but efforts like these are helping to gradually restore its beauty.

A few months ago I was standing on a production floor in Shenzhen, elbow deep in camera modules. Today I'm doing ecosystem partnerships in crypto and onchain finance. Here's the thread on how those two things are actually the same job.

Announcing Ikigai Grants: Microgrants give early-stage, bootstrapped talent capital. But that’s not enough. I’ve watched too many grantees become perpetual microgrant chasers, wasting time applying to one $5k grant after another. Worse, most programs encourage this by funding the blanket “smart people doing cool things,” with no real conviction behind it. I wouldn’t be here without patronage from @tylercowen & @jposhaughnessy. But looking back, the mentors & community were worth much more than the money. So I built the program I always wished existed: - $50k total, avg. $5k check - Matched with mentors & community across @RenPhilanthropy , Fulcrum Science, and my personal network of founders, fund leads, investors & scientists. Cohort 1 backs emerging talent in areas I believe are deeply underfunded and undervalued. Every application is reviewed by me. Ikigai Grants is a program of @RenPhilanthropy, with support from Fulcrum Science. Advised by many wonderful friends & colleagues including: @AshleyNAbel @RaianyRomanni @NeuroStats Bonnie EJ Maven @idatin @ashleyz413 @JackScannell13 Apply by Nov 9th, 9a PST: alexaraki.xyz/ikigai

Replying to @wordsgirljul
quiet towns, rolling hills, acres of tea plantations, pristine beaches, bamboo forests, backwaters, coconut groves, waterfalls... the nature blew me away and I'm not sure people know about how much India has to offer 🗺️

🌱 Want to finance regeneration while earning real yield? Do you have a regenerative startup that needs access to capital today? Join @higrowfi for an onboarding session for @refidaoist members & local nodes Thursday, Oct 22 from 5-6pm CET for a 1-hour virtual session. Why GrowFi and why ReFi DAO? Shifting to regenerative food systems faces an estimated funding gap of $250-430 billion a year for the next decade. Current funding flows are only about a tenth of what’s needed. But that's not all. Net zero needs about $6.4T a year in climate finance through 2030, and shifting to regenerative food systems adds another $250-430B a year. That’s a rough $55-75T over 10 years, versus just $1.46T in climate finance flows in 2022. Traditional banks aren't built for the transition to a regenerative economy. That's why we built GrowFi, an onchain p2p lending platform that uses Ethereum network effects backed by living real world assets, and social capital that pays back loans with sustainable yield from the land. pretty good write up. i really don't care about farcaster at all, or what happens to it, but it was weird seeing a lot of OG users getting banned right off the bat post acquisition. seems like it would have been better not to ban them but try to onboard the very small cohort of users that actually still enjoyed and supported the network?

I haven't been on x forgive me but... 70% of the entire internet was hacked by AI / PHP? And everyone is acting normal? Why did I not get like 100 dms and emails. This is just the start, and the weird thing is; hindsight showed crypto was first actors with the defi hacks happening. Now 70% of the internet was effected and it's only going to get worse. I've never been a doomer, ever, this is the first time AI has genuinely scared me

prime minister of japan asks you to update php what a world

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

This is the last post that I’ll be making from the Burger Money account. I want to thank everyone who has supported $BURGERS over the past 13 and a half months. $BURGERS has been able to donate $6,383 to help feed the hungry since August 16th of last year. When I first launched Burger Money I was insanely bullish on Base, I can’t say the same anymore. I’m going all in on $RWI, @RWIrobinhood. I’m bullish on @RobinhoodCrypto and I believe that’s the best chain where any builder can go to truly be successful. I’m going to devote all of my energy and time to making $RWI something much more successful and impactful than Burger Money ever could have been. For any holders of $BURGERS who lost a substantial amount of funds, please reach out to me, we will figure out a way to make you whole. 🤝 Thank you again to everyone who has supported me on Burger Money, you can continue to follow my journey at @RWI_Louis if you’d like, as I continue to use crypto for good to help the people in this world who need it. Thank you @flaunchgg and @0xCaps especially, I wish you the best. I love you guys, burgers out! 🍔

To put things in perspective, one of the main usages of PHP on the Internet is Wordpress. Did you know that 40% of the Internet runs on Wordpress? That means that with the PHP security compromise 40% of the Internet is at risk. Most people are using outdated Wordpress and will not upgrade. They don’t even know how to or the sites are abandoned. Things are about to get crazy. 2 factor, 3 factor, everything. Make safe words with your friends and family. Hide passwords like horcruxes in a tree in Albania. Do whatever you have to. Things are about to get crazy.

Since morons are noting my post, claiming that it's only a server side issue that doesn't affect clients, here's why interacting with compromised servers is A BAD IDEA:

🚨DEFCON 1🚨 In a few hours, a critical vulnerability that affects ~70% of web sites will be disclosed. It allows an attacker to upload and execute arbitrary code. It's probably best if you stop browsing the internet for the rest of the week. xitter.cf/ThePHPF/status/2112633…
The PHP security team is giving advance notice: Upcoming security release Wed, Oct 21st 2026, 14:00UTC, two critical vulnerabilities, both rated CVSSv4 9.2. PHP users are encouraged to prepare to update. Earlier release if details become public or active exploit evidence.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
These are server-side PHP RCE vulnerabilities for which web hosts/admins should prepare to patch per official notice; general users face no direct need to stop browsing. PHP detected on ~69% of sites with known server-side language. php.net/archive/2026.p… w3techs.com/technologies/d… cert.europa.eu/publications/s… sansec.io/research/php2s… arstechnica.com/security/2026/…
