Ontario has the talent and ideas to compete on the world stage.
I appreciated joining @ip_ontario for a roundtable with innovation leaders to discuss how strategic procurement can help homegrown companies turn their ideas into opportunities and grow here at home.
Ensuring the value created in our province stays here will strengthen our economy and help build lasting prosperity for Ontarians

I had a great introductory meeting with the team at the Ontario Centre of Innovation. @OCInnovation
OCI is doing incredible work turning Ontario ideas into Ontario jobs. Through their $50M Critical Industrial Technologies initiative, which has already fast-tracked 100+ emerging technologies, they're helping SMEs adopt AI, robotics, cybersecurity and other critical tech across sectors from advanced manufacturing to mining.
Excited to work together to accelerate AI adoption and keep Ontario leading the global innovation race.

It's go time. Don’t waste it! The world is looking at Canada for the first time in a decade. That window doesn't stay open forever. Stop waiting for someone else to price the first round. Lead it. Back the founder who isn't a safe bet yet. Ottawa can clear the path. Go!! 🇨🇦💪🍁

Had a great chat with Ashley Chapman to congratulate him on his Canadian leadership as Chapman’s Ice Cream moves to replace more than 70% of its American ingredients with Canadian & non-U. S alternatives.
This strategic decision emphasizes not only the resilience and self-reliance of Ontario businesses, but demonstrates the viability of leveraging local partners to strengthen domestic supply chains.
Having supported the expansion of their Markdale facility just last year, our government could not be prouder and we hope to see many others follow Chapman’s “sweet” example.

It was a pleasure to tour Fusion Pharmaceuticals and learn more about the groundbreaking work taking place right here in Ontario. Born from research at @McMasterU and now part of @AstraZeneca, Fusion is advancing the next generation of cancer treatments and saving lives across Ontario.

Venture capital investment in Canada jumped 17 per cent in the first half of 2026 and Ontario-based companies led the charge.
The biggest disclosed deals included:
• Toronto-based Beacon Software’s $313M Series C Round;
• Ottawa-based Dominion Dynamic’s record-breaking $139M Series A Round;
• Toronto-based fintech company Koho Financial’s $130M Series E raise, which propelled it to unicorn status.
