"why doesn't paperstrategy just burn the whole treasury into PAPER now before the PAPER/dollar rate reaches 0?"
the chart bellow shows what $1 lost on papertrade earns per day in staking revenue since launch. the red zone is the first ~6 hours, when $1 lost minted up to 100 PAPER and, at that pace, earned itself back within a day. since then both halves collapsed: fewer PAPER per dollar, and much less revenue per PAPER. today $1 lost at the base rate mints ~31 PAPER and earns ~1,800x less per day than at the peak. that's ~640 days to earn itself back.
"then why didn't you burn everything on day one?"
because the 100 per $1 window only lasted while papertrade's LP was under $2M. it closed in less than an hour, we went hard in that window: our launch burn is where our first 32M PAPER came from.
if we burnt the entire treasury we wouldn't have been capable to farm more paper and gotten diluted by inflation. we're not here for one week. the goal is to become the biggest PAPER staker and stay there for as long as papertrade runs.
so we track cost, not speed:
launch burn: 167 PAPER per $1 lost (base rate then: 100 paper per dollar)
strategy 3 today: 175 PAPER per $1
strategy 4 today: 205 PAPER per $1
base rate today: 31 paper per dollar
the base rate fell 3x and our best strategies still mint cheaper than we did at launch. over the last 24h, our PAPER grew 3.2x faster than total supply.
