Why is my feed suddenly filled with clearly AI slop mini stories, followed by AI slop generic replies summarizing the moral of the story? It’s like 1/4th of my feed and accounts I don’t follow.
Going to be much more difficult to build a domestic solar manufacturing industry in the US if this goes through.
China proposes export controls on solar-manufacturing technologies reuters.com/business/autos-t…
Saudi Arabia is importing solar panels so they can burn less of their oil for electricity and export more, and can use more of their natural gas for petrochemical feedstocks rather than fuel. Those are economic trades. Not environmental ones.
Surprise.. our health insurance premiums are going up 20%+ next year, and coverage is getting worse. That's at least the third year in a row that has happened. Has anyone figured out how to beat this?
Apple should have made a car.
They've run out of form factors to shove iOS onto. I've got a watch, phone, and a laptop. Most of my family has the same, plus some iPads. All of these things are typically within 20 feet of you at home, and can do everything this device can do.
VC, I need you to come in for your pro rata or you are going to get pay-to-played. Crammed down 10:1 and converted to common.
VC, I need you to waive your pro-rata rights so I can accommodate new investors who will be senior preferred to all your previous investments.
Both can and do happen in the same company. Sometimes in the same round as dynamics change.
Tripit just saved me another $120 by telling me a fare for a flight I had booked dropped. Not paid by Tripit to endorse them! It's been an easy way to save hundreds of dollars a year on flights for me. The UI feels like it hasn't been updated since the 00's, but I don't care.
Pro travel tip - I've been using @TripIt for a long time and it pretty much pays for itself every year ($49/year subscription for Tripit Pro) by letting me know when a flight I booked drops in price. Just got a $370 flight credit for a flight coming up this weekend. Airlines obviously won't tell you when they change a fare in your favor after you've booked, but you are eligible to get the lower fare - you just have to call and ask. And Tripit automatically reminds you. I have no affiliation with the company, and the website feels like it was built in the 90s. But, can't argue with the results.
I'm guessing someone will tell me there is a free service to do this our I could just build an AI agent to do it.
For all the Millenials and GenZ’s complaining about greedy boomers and their lavish social security benefits. Those boomers were your age in 1983 when the program was going broke and they had their SS taxes raised and their retirement age pushed out to fix it. And they too believed they wouldn’t see a dime when they retired because of those greedy Greatest Generation old folks.
It’s your turn. Suck it up.
Why are venture investors ok with doing rounds of hundreds of millions of dollars on a SAFE? Seems insane.
No information rights. No pro-rata rights. No definition of a qualified financing - you convert into whatever the company decides to convert you into. If the company fails without the SAFEs converting you are in line behind any creditors, lenders, debt holders, and other obligations of the company, to just get 1x your money back with no interest. No claim to IP or other assets of the company. No liquidation preference.
A convertible note fixes all those things, and is a cheap and fairly standard legal document to protect investors under a number of possible scenarios and outcomes.
SAFEs were invented to allow small early checks into early stage companies where the legal costs to do a convertible note might not be worth it given the size of the check. But when check sizes are in the $100M+ you can afford $10K of legal expenses to do a convertible note that all the investors can use.
Now I see people modifying SAFEs and adding side letters to SAFEs which defeats the purpose of the SAFE - avoiding legal fees. If you are modifying the SAFE, then it's not a SAFE - it's a brand new legal document that needs a lawyer to draft and review. Same with a side letter.
Welcome to the future. Very few companies can pull this off. Tesla controls the full hardware and software stack. More of this please!
Tesla just had the biggest residential Virtual Power Plant event in history.
During peak demand in California yesterday, 85,774 homes with @Tesla Powerwalls delivered 601 MW to the grid, with the total fleet peaking at a record 634 MW, roughly the output of a large utility-scale power plant.
These Powerwall owners also got paid for the energy they sent back to the grid during this event 🔋
If you can't beat electrification, join electrification. Nicely done Vermont Gas. electrek.co/2026/10/01/a-gas…
Craig Lawrence retweeted
The common theme across batteries, solar panels, wind turbines and grid equipment is that the energy transition is creating its own expanding inventory of recoverable materials.

Such a no-brainer for new home construction.
