You say, “These are certainly the end times.” Well, we can only hope that is the case.

O viridissima virga, ave! It’s been a pleasure working with @michaelsamynART on a VR chapel in celebration of Hildegard con Bingen’s vision of #viriditas, the greening energy behind all life. The one and only VR fascicle of @_foam #anarchive 🌱
The Viriditas Chapel of Perpetual Adoration by @michaelsamynART will be installed in the northern apsidal chapel of the virtual cathedral. 🌿⛪
Thanks to patrons @deziluzija and @zzkt of @_foam.

Here's some of my thoughts about developing a sincere and modest VR piece inspired by old beauty with a religious theme and releasing it for free in a materialist world of cynical social media obsessed with numbers glued to cell phones: olt.lt/ms/compassie-postmort…

In many paintings the Magdalene is depicted in the act of opening the jar. Or is she closing it? I think so. Magdalene was considered a sinful woman and closing the jar is a symbol for her repentance. She later became revered as a Saint.

That jar belongs to Mary Magdalene who stood next to Maria at the crucifixion. In the bible she appears as a woman who anoints the feet of Jesus (much appreciated by the son of man to the dismay of his disciples). And the jar is the container of the ointment.

One of the recurring elements in paintings of the pietà is a small ceramic jar. @some_donkus has modelled it for #CompassieVR and it sits next to you in the diorama.
But why? What does it mean?
