just as lynn margulis showed in her detailing of mitochondrial incorporation, the great turning will happen by symbiosis. inside of protective, semipermeable membranes, small cooperative communities are inventing new patterns. and they are beginning to replicate within their own watersheds. eventually these new, local scale patterns strengthen and form federations between each other. the old way is not destroyed or eliminated by too down macro forces; that’s just another totalitarian impulse. instead, the new ways are symbiotically incorporated by the old way. over time, the new patterns continue relatively faster regeneration and come to be the norm. even then, many pockets of the old way remain. holo or hylo may be these local patterns. i am sure that sovereign indigenous nations are another. when you look closely, like chanterelles after a soaking fall rain, you can see them popping everywhere.
just keeping the RT-nesting going... the big question that keeps coming back to me is, what's the 'hook' that enables people to flock to an alternative en masse? I don't know the answer, but I think it looks like sthg we already use but is secretly quite different.

there is a drop from the old way to the new. it is the small minority that lets go because of the mind or reason. a few let go because social aspiration and people like to follow the cool. but for the largest majorities, they will only let go and drop into the new when they tire, can no longer hold their own weight or the old way breaks entirely. same old same old.

This is a base-setting for our species. I’ve heard other interviews with this man and he is also a mathlete. This is what all humans are capable of, if there is safety and security. Now I have no idea what his personal life or childhood was like, but he seems to have figured 1…
We've got another electric post-game interview from Devin Cooley 🔥

this sunny sunday in vancouver was a sex party. late summer 74 degree bacchanalia. amateur olympiads, tight two pieces, bouncing volley balls all over the beaches. and lovers, hand in hand, around each bend. making out in broad daylight as if mourning incipient, endless gloom.
Everything is dying. The world is dying to be born again. Goth sex.

this is one of the dopest pieces of infrastructure since digital communications. it lets you build intimate, real and relational micro services; by and for your own community, with their values. if we can gel the pattern, it can replicate far and wide. sayonara, uber; motherf@&$r. it could be like ios for *your* community.
I still want you to opt in, need 57 more ppl before demo day on Friday, go like my tweet! xitter.cf/exgenesis/status/20854…

intuition here, but i thought you might like this and i am curious for your take on it @leahprime
wait rabbit, now i’m confused. i mean, i like some science with the best of them. and i totally believe magic is real. like real, real. really just stuff that has worked for ages and science has had time to catch up with. the magic that doesn’t work is just a bad trick.

no. i don’t think it is a category issue. like, do you see that Elon Musk obviously casts spells? the whole mars, moon colonization thing is obviously fake. he doesn’t give a shit. he just wants to make robots. but he figured out that using these words and images from sci-fi turn people into his minions. like his whole Kardashev Type II is not real. it isn’t something people care about. It is a spell. for certain kinds of people who were conditioned by a mix of physics, sci fi, and cypher punk, it literally takes over their minds. that is literally magic in my book. most of marketing, frankly, seems obviously magic to me. great brands like the nike swoosh and apple, just magical spells don’t get me started on poetry and sex magic.
