Better mining can start with a single sample in the lab – or 1,724 of them. 🧪 At KFM in the DRC, our laboratory teams have been testing ore samples from across the operation to find the best balance between sulphuric acid use and copper recovery, helping teams extract copper efficiently while avoiding unnecessary acid consumption. 🔬 The results identified pH 1.55 as the strongest overall balance. Applied in production, this work helped KFM significantly reduce average acid consumption in April and May compared with the first three months of the year, saving nearly 8,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid in just two months. 📊 KFM is already building on that progress through new flotation trials aimed at reducing acid use further while improving copper recovery. ⛏️ Small tests, better decisions and measurable results – part of how CMOC is making its global operations more precise, efficient and competitive. 🌍 #KFM #Innovation #OperationalExcellence
